The RoleAre you an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a proven track record in managing construction costs and delivering value on complex projects? As part of our team, youll play a key role in managing project costs, ensuring efficiency, and delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget.Key ResponsibilitiesCost Management: Prepare and manage cost budgets, Predicted Final Accounts (PFA), and financial tracking to ensure projects stay within budget.Tendering & Procurement: Prepare tender packages, analyse subcontractor quotations, and lead pre-let interviews to select the best contractors.Subcontractor Management: Oversee orders, monthly valuations, payments, and variations while maintaining strict cost control.Value Engineering: Collaborate with design and construction teams to identify cost-saving solutions without compromising on quality.Reporting: Provide regular reports on costs, cash flow, and budget forecasts, identifying potential overruns early.Team Leadership: Mentor junior team members, supporting their growth and helping build a strong Quantity Surveying team.The CompanyOur Client is a well-established housebuilder with a first-class reputation in the property industry. We focus on building beautiful homes that our customers will be proud of, while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. youll have the opportunity to work on large-scale projects and contribute to our growth and success.The PersonWe are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor who possesses:Proven experience in quantity surveying within the construction sector, ideally with a focus on residential housing developments.A strong track record of effectively managing costs across multiple projects.Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal teams and subcontractors.Leadership experience to mentor junior staff and help grow a dynamic team.Essential Qualifications & Experience:A degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management, accredited by RICS or equivalent.At least 5 years of post-qualification experience, ideally within residential housing developments.Line management experience.Desirable Skills & Qualities:Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to convey complex information simply.Ability to confidently handle negotiations with external bodies, including subcontractors.Strong numerical and data analysis skills.Proficiency in IT, including advanced Excel skills and design/costing software.Teamwork skills and resilience under pressure.Practical, logical approach with attention to detail.Why Join Us?Our client offers an exciting opportunity to further your career within a growing and dynamic business.
