Our team is passionate about making a real difference in people's lives, and we're committed to building a collaborative, fast-paced, and fun work environment.Role SummaryThe Scientist will support the drug development team, leveraging technical expertise in analytical chemistry to support the discovery and characterisation of novel drug candidates and their clinical formulations.The Impact you will have at MetseraUnder the guidance of the Research Director, the applicant's main roles will include:Executing and optimising assays to characterise Metsera's peptides and peptide formulationsDeveloping novel assays to address future bioanalysis needsDeveloping quality control testing and characterisation assaysProviding general wet lab support for our in-vitro scientistsWith short notice, working with the Discovery and CMC Teams to address their immediate peptide characterisation needsMaintaining accurate written and computer-based records for all experiments and studiesAnalysing large datasets and generating research reportsFrom time to time, other duties may includeUndertaking any necessary training and/or developmentCarrying out such other duties as necessary to assist in the smooth and efficient operation of the laboratory and facilities, including cleaning and maintenanceWhat you bring to MetseraMSc degree +2 years or PhD degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related Life Sciences, or have equivalent academic and/or industrial experienceWet lab experience in a molecular biology lab (industry or academia) with peptide or protein research backgroundExperience with executing and developing analytical methods and assays to characterise peptides or proteinsExperience with biological molecule characterisation techniques, e.g. LC (RP/SEC-HPLC), DLS / SLSComfortable in a fast-paced laboratory environmentAble to work methodically whilst delivering results to a high standardExcellent verbal and written communication skillsHave a co-operative, flexible attitude towards workAble to self-prioritise and mange own work with minimal supervisionDisciplined and considerate of confidentiality and security at all timesPreferred:Experience with LCMS advantageousExperience working in a biotech start-up advantageousNotice to agencies: Our in-house Talent Acquisition Team manages all employment opportunities at Metsera.
