My Client is a leading litigation law firm with a significant portfolio of high-value, cross-border work. As Associate General Counsel (Disputes), you will advise the firm on disputes, regulatory matters, and compliance issues. Reporting directly to the Managing Partner, you will collaborate closely with other Partners and C-Suite executives.Key ResponsibilitiesDispute Resolution: Develop and execute robust legal strategies for a range of contentious matters, many involving cross-border elements.Professional & Regulatory Risk Management: Assess and manage professional and regulatory risks in line with the firms obligations and goals.Compliance Oversight: Ensure strict adherence to legal and regulatory frameworks relevant to the firms operations.Stakeholder Liaison: Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including external counsel, on legal, regulatory, and compliance risks.Day-to-Day DutiesConduct in-depth legal research and provide strategic advice to leadership.Draft, review, and finalize legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings.Oversee case progression, ensuring deadlines and objectives align with commercial goals.Communicate with clients, legal professionals, and external counsel.Stay updated on legal and regulatory developments.Essential Qualifications & ExperienceEducation: JD from a highly regarded U.S. law school.Bar Admission: New York Bar.Experience: Minimum 4 years of post-qualification experience in civil and/or commercial litigation, disputes, regulatory, and compliance matters.Legal Knowledge: Strong grasp of New York law, particularly in financial transactions and commercial disputes.Litigation Experience: Experience handling complex, high-stakes litigation with international elements.Regulatory Expertise: Background in financial regulatory matters and compliance risks.Key Skills: Analytical ability, negotiation, clear communication (written & verbal), and attention to detail.Work Ethic: Ability to work independently and collaboratively, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet tight deadlines.Preferred QualificationsDual qualification in England & Wales and New York Bar.Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to work under pressure.Proficiency in Excel and comfort with financial analysis.Existing UK work authorization (preferred but not required).
