We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Water Asset Engineer to be the face ofAdvanced Water Infrastructure Networks (Leaf Water) onsite.The person will initially work as part of a small team,having responsibility for assuring the compliance of the self-lay network against corporate design and adoption standards and ensuring water asset information is captured in the company asset information management system. The Role The Water Asset Engineer will be responsible for a range of water networks asset management, operational and compliance tasks. They will be responsible for; Being the onsite point of contact for developers and self-lay organisations. Self-lay trench inspections including checks on; depth, bedding material, pipe laying and pipe commissioning. Surveying new networks so their assets can be geocoded and recorded in the AWIN GIS asset database. Maintenance and assurance of information within the AWIN GIS asset database. Network operation tasks such asoperating valves, air valve and air valve chamber maintenance and network flushing in accordance with requests via the AWIN workflow system. Network pressure testing and Leakage detection. Performing basic onsite water quality tests with portable test kits and undertaking aesthetic water quality tests for appearance and taste and odour. Undertaking root cause analysis investigations following customer complaints, network events and/or sample failures. What are we looking for? Ideally the individual will be technically competent in water mains laying and water network operations, including CALM valve operations and flushing and have sufficient plumbing knowledge. The holder of this role should hold, or be willing to work towards a relevant qualification, at an equivalent to NVQ level 3 in either network operations and maintenance, Network Construction Operations Water or an accredited plumbing course. If not already undertaken the post holder will be expected to successfully complete a Course in Water Regulations Enforcement. Strong communications skills with customers and stakeholders.
