The School of Technical, Construction and Motor Vehicle at Carshalton College are seeking a Lecturer/Assessor in Carpentry someone to deliver outstanding quality teaching, learning, assessment and tutorial support to students and apprentices to maximise achievement and continuous improvement. This post plays a fundamental role in supporting the development of the curriculum with employer engagement and learner skills development. You will deliver teaching and assessment activities within the area of carpentry including lectures, setting/marking coursework, practical activities and field work. You will select appropriate assessment methods and criteria, assess the work and progress of students by reference to the criteria and provide constructive feedback to students. We are looking for someone who is able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the Carpentry Apprenticeship standard and the assessment process through to End-Point Assessment (EPA). With interdisciplinary skills and working experience within carpentry, you will have recent teaching experience in an FE College and hold a teaching qualification (or willing to work towards). With an advanced level of computer literacy and general office software management skills, you will be able to work under pressure and to strict validating body deadlines with effective ability to use initiative, organise and prioritise. You will have effective presentation, delivery and time management skills for a variety of audiences with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both group and interpersonal situations.
