Chef Location: Felpham, Bognor Regis Hours: Full Time, 31.5 hours per week Salary: 13.30 per hour on weekdays, 14.30 on weekends, and 18.45 for overtime The Role The Residential Care Home, located just back from the seafront in a prime Felpham location, is seeking a dedicated Chef. The role involves preparing nutritious, high-quality meals tailored to the needs and preferences of their residents. You'll work every weekend and one flexible weekday from 08:00 to 18:30 with a paid break as part of a supportive team focused on excellent care. They are looking for someone with at least two years of experience as a chef and a genuine passion for creating nutritious, home-cooked meals that enhance the well-being of their residents. Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook nutritious, well-balanced meals according to residents' dietary needs, preferences, and care plans. Ensure all meals meet food safety, hygiene, and nutritional standards, including texture-modified diets when required. Plan weekly menus considering seasonal ingredients, dietary restrictions, and resident feedback. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, complying with food safety regulations (HACCP). Manage food stock levels, placing orders to ensure availability while minimising waste. Work closely with care staff to ensure mealtimes are a positive and inclusive experience for residents. Engage with residents to understand their food preferences and adapt meals accordingly. Ensure accurate allergen information is maintained and communicated effectively. Adhere to all health and safety policies, including fire safety and the home's Emergency Plan. Participate in team meetings and communicate effectively with staff and management. Complete all mandatory training, including food hygiene and safety, and pursue further professional development as required. Maintain confidentiality regarding residents and the organisation at all times. Comply with all organisational policies and procedures.
