The roleThe UKs leading jewellery trade association seeks a proactive Membership Development Officer to drive recruitment and engagement. You will generate new business, implement a membership growth plan, and promote member engagement with internal services and external partners. Additionally, you will support revenue streams such as paid promotions, events, and education.As part of the Membership team, you will collaborate closely with Marketing, Compliance, and Education to achieve success. You are self-motivated and collaborate well with others, bringing enthusiasm, organisation, and a commercial mindset.Role ResponsibilitiesMembership RecruitmentActively recruit new members and re-engage lapsed businesses by effectively communicating NAJs value proposition.Develop and implement a structured recruitment plan, tracking and reviewing progress with the Membership Manager.Utilise a combination of channels and face-to-face interactions to convert leads into members.Conduct pre-membership meetings with applicants to ensure alignment with NAJ offerings.Visit members in person to foster engagement and achieve outreach targets.Maintain accurate records in the CRM system, ensuring up-to-date member details and interactions.Research, prioritise, and share lead insights with the team to support membership strategies.Member Engagement & Service PromotionActively promote NAJs services, including education, commercial support, and events.Develop a structured plan for engagement and review progress regularly with the Membership Manager.Provide new members with an onboarding experience, ensuring they are aware of key benefits.Identify opportunities for members to benefit from additional services and facilitate introductions.Maintain comprehensive records of interactions in the CRM system to track engagement levels.Membership Retention & Relationship ManagementSupport renewal activities to minimise membership churn and gather insights on member needs.Share updated contact details with the Membership Administrator to ensure accurate records.Represent NAJ at trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities.Identify and address potential risks of member disengagement, escalating concerns as needed.Provide regular feedback to the team on member sentiment, service adoption, and industry challenges.Membership AdministrationMaintain CRM records with accuracy, ensuring all member interactions are logged appropriately.Update and manage lead pipelines, segmenting contacts for targeted outreach efforts.Ensure compliance with data management policies and complete necessary training regularly.Key Performance IndicatorsRecruitment & Retention TargetsMeet agreed new membership revenue and volume targets.Maintain a member retention rate as outlined by the Membership Manager.Engagement & OutreachAchieve set targets for member interactions, including in-person visits and digital communications.Maintain a positive Net Promoter Score (NPS), ensuring strong member satisfaction.Develop deep industry relationships and demonstrate expert knowledge of the membership base.Values & ContributionUphold NAJs values of Honesty, Integrity, and ProfessionalismBuild strong internal relationships and contribute positively to the team environment.Essential requirementsExcellent written and spoken EnglishFull UK driving license with access to your own vehicleExperience in using Microsoft Office productsExperience in using CRM SystemsAn excellent telephone manner and great communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to manage own workload, liaising with othersExperience in building and improving administrative processesAbility to carry out research, analyse information and produce clear reportsWell-organised with project management skillsDiligent approach to work with a particular attention to detailA strong teamwork ethic3 years experience in a commercial business development, sales, or event management roleExperience in membership administrationDesirable requirementsExperience in a professional service, membership body or trade organisationExperience working within the jewellery tradeHow to ApplyPlease submit your application, including a CV and cover letter, by 7th March 2025.The NAJ is an equal opportunity employer.Download the full job listing below...https://www.naj.co.uk/write/MediaUploads/Membership/MembershipDevelopmentOfficer2025-Full.pdf
