Mechanical Maintenance TechnicianHartlepoolFlavours and FragrancesMajor Talent is partnered with a global player within the flavours and fragrance industry who have facilities throughout North America, Asia, and the UK. We are looking to speak with candidates for an open Mechanical Maintenance Technician position. As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for fault diagnosis, routine servicing, repair, maintenance and testing of complex plant, machinery and associated components and on occasion the installation of machinery used This is a shift position, working on the 24/7 shift patternResponsibilities as a Mechanical Maintenance Technician Assemble, position and install, carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on, test and diagnose faults in, repair, remove and replace, and disassemble mechanical equipment and systems in engineering construction plant. Understand the relevant legislative, regulatory and local requirements or procedures and safe working practices, including their responsibilities with regards to reporting lines and procedures. Read and interpret relevant engineering drawings, related specifications, quality standards and equipment manuals, and to follow work instructions and relevant plans and schedules. Follow relevant training, methods and techniques and quality control and safety procedures for their use. Ensure the care and security of tools and equipment used. Identify thr types of defects and testing anomalies that can occur and what action to take.Handle a range of digital information, technology and equipment to support work related tasks and to communicate information.Responsibility for the training and development of team members; identifying training interventions and creating/developing competency frameworks based around SOPs, Equipment, Instructions. Assessment of team members competency against the training frameworks for on the job training; via an auditing programme; maintain records within company systems;Monitor and control overtime working, attendance and holidays along with managing the performance and discipline of direct reports.Skills required to be a Mechanical Maintenance Technician ECITB or other relevant apprenticeship or HNC/D with appropriate experience Awareness of CompEx working practicesGiven the hazardous chemical nature of the working environment within the business, the overallrisk control strategy will require mechanical technicians to be familiar with and work within a formal Permit to Work (PTW) system. Compliance with a specific company or site Safety Management System (SMS) will also be requiredA working knowledge of food industry practices would be beneficial.
