Operating across 26 regions, they are committed to leaving a lasting, positive legacy in every project they undertake.The Project As a highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing all commercial and financial aspects of a 299-unit, mixed-tenure new build development with build values in excess of 50m. Additionally, you will ensure that all financial reporting is timely and aligned with company standards, while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders to support the delivery of high-quality, sustainable homes.Requirements For this role it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum;RICS, HNC, or relevant degree in quantity surveyingIt is also essential that you hold the experience below;Proven history of successfully working on various residential / mixed-tenure new build development projectsExtensive background within the industry with at least 5 years of experience working for a market leading construction contractor or subcontractorAdditional skills;IT skillsEffective time managementSuperb negotiation capabilitiesAnalytical and Mathematical skillsExcellent sales and presentation skillsAbility to multitask and prioritise projectsStrong communication and attention to detailsUnderstanding of construction laws and regulationsThe ability to accurately estimate the costs associated with the projectA solid understanding of construction materials, methods, and techniquesThe RoleJob Title: Senior Quantity SurveyorJob Type: PermanentProject: 299-unit, mixed tenure new build development with values in excess of 50mLocation: GrimsbyReporting to: Commercial ManagerDutiesProcurementAnalysis of tender allowancesReporting regularly to Commercial ManagerPreparing material reconciliation summariesEvaluate the cost-efficiency of various design optionsAssess and contrast proposals from contractors and suppliersMentor and guide junior quantity surveyors and other team membersAssess and approve progress payments to contractors and suppliersApply efficient and dependable cost control techniques and strategiesOversee cash flow and provide regular financial updates to stakeholdersLead negotiations and mediate conflicts to reach a mutually agreeable solutionSet up systems for cost reporting to efficiently track and control project expensesEnforce compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practicesConduct detailed cost analyses and thorough feasibility studies for proposed projectsAttend project meetings, offering expert guidance and insights on cost-related mattersParticipate in professional development initiatives to improve skills and expand knowledgeManage and oversee project expenditures, ensuring they align with budgetary constraintsMaintain up to date, precise records of all financial transactions and project documentationSupervise the financial effects of design modifications and negotiate any necessary revisionsCollaborate closely with project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and contractorsCreate cost plans and forecasts to ensure efficient budget management throughout the project lifecyclePrepare comprehensive cost estimates and budgets for the project and integrate them into the planning phaseMonitor cost and financial risks related to the project and apply strategies to address and mitigate potential issuesNegotiate and finalize contract terms with contractors and suppliers to ensure they align with project specifications and budgetary limitsGuarantee adherence to all contract terms, conditions, and specifications throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with project objectives and client expectationsEnsure all financial matters are resolved and finalized, with detailed documentation kept for a comprehensive and thorough project closureThis is a permanent position with an excellent salary on offer for the successful candidate.
