You will provide neurodevelopmental assessments, diagnoses, and interventions for children and young people to identify anxiety, attention deficit hyperactivity disorders (ADHD), and autism spectrum disorders (ASD).You will need to have the following:Professional qualification as a Paediatrician or Psychiatrist Child and Adolescent - MRCPCH or MRCPsychRegistration with the GMCConsultant level or experienced non-training grade with demonstrable interest and experience in behavioural / neuro-developmental conditionsA clear Enhanced DBSOutstanding communication skills both in spoken and written communicationOutstanding empathy and intuitionNatural inclination to share our core, patient-centered valuesStrong work ethicMeticulous attention to detail where patients and their care are concernedStrong team player with both professional and administrative colleagues used to operating in a level playing field and demonstrating the ability to work collaboratively with others, supporting them where possibleWhat the post involves:As a Consultant Paediatrician with interests in neurodevelopmental conditions, you will be responsible for administering the clinical assessment, making the diagnostic decision with the full support of a fellow Senior Consultant Paediatrician and feeding back your outcome to the client and their family verbally and in writing, as well as providing medication treatment and reviews, and referring patients to NHS, if requested, or specialist services if needed.Duties include:Assessing children and young people for ADHD or ASD, considering differential and/co-occurring conditions to make diagnostic decisionsCarrying out a full appropriate examination including growth parameters and cardiac examinationTaking into account other factors such as severe anxiety, the age of the child, and the development of the child when planning treatmentUnderstanding of the autonomy of a teenager and young adultUsing clinical judgement and experience to apply appropriate treatmentFormulating and implementing plans for the treatment and medication of patients using NICE guidelines in line with national/local formularies and Healthcare4Kids expertiseEnsuring that the family and the childs interests are fully considered within the context of their treatment plan and that all parties actively participate in ethical and shared decision makingWriting informative, accurate, and professional medical reports to be completed within expected timeframesProviding ongoing communication with the family via email, and phone callsProviding ongoing communication with Primary CareComplete risk assessments and review safeguarding needs alongside treatment strategies during ongoing patient careProviding regular medication reviews for children and young peopleAdministration of shared care agreements, individual medication plans, and liaison with the administrative team regarding clinic follow-upExercise autonomous professional responsibility for diagnosis within competence, with supervision from Consultant PaediatricianFollowing national guidance and policies developed by the CompanyUse independent prescribing skills and knowledge to complete health assessments, and initiate medication and titrate dosageProvide consultation and training to other members of staff to develop skills in this area of expertiseWorking closely with clinical lead to ensure a consistent, gold standard and forward-thinking serviceMaintaining registration with the appropriate governing body (GMC)Salary: Competitive depending on experience.Contract: Self-employed, working ideally full-time at 37.5 hours per week, or part-time (minimum 2 days per week)Support you will receive:CPD/Training:Support considered with the completion of a prescribing qualification and any other accreditations that may benefit the organisation in the short and long termClinical skills training will be providedThis is a great opportunity if you would like to move to a private Mental Health Clinic and make a difference to the young generation.JBRP1_UKTJ
