Senior Civil Engineering Manager Rail Group Location: Scarborough Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Job Type: Full-time, Permanent We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineering Manager to join our Rail Group , overseeing the management and maintenance of railway structures, buildings, permanent way (P-Way), and associated infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions across our rail network. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage civil engineering projects related to railway structures, buildings, P-Way, and associated infrastructure. Oversee asset management, inspections, maintenance strategies, and compliance with railway safety and engineering standards. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and external contractors to ensure seamless project execution. Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, and health and safety legislation. Manage budgets, resources, and reporting requirements to support business objectives. Requirements: Ideally Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards chartership with a recognised institution (ICE, IStructE, or equivalent) but not essential. Proven experience in civil engineering management within the rail sector, covering structures, P-Way, and buildings. Strong understanding of railway infrastructure, including asset management, inspections, and maintenance strategies. Experience managing large-scale projects, budgets, and multidisciplinary teams. In-depth knowledge of Network Rail standards, health and safety regulations, and industry best practices. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
