We run regular team meetings including our daily stand-up and weekly Design Critique to stay connected and provide peer review and feedback on each other's work. We also regularly present to the wider business to disseminate, collaborate, and celebrate all the great research and design the team has delivered. ICIS is part of the UX community at RELX, our parent company, which has 100s of UX Researchers and Designers working across a range of sectors. The RELX UX community offers a range of opportunities to collaborate and hosts in-person and online UX meetups throughout the year. About the role: An Associate UX Researcher plays a supporting role in understanding user behaviours, needs and motivations. You will be training in UX research techniques.Responsibilities:Understanding user needs: You'll conduct your own research such as user interviews, surveys, usability testing or analysing usage data to uncover user pain points, motivations, and behaviours. You might delve into understanding user journeys, information architecture, and content needs.Crafting research plans: Working closely with senior researchers and designers, you'll help define research questions, select appropriate methodologies, and develop study plans tailored to specific project needs.Unveiling user insights: Through data analysis and synthesis, you'll transform raw data into meaningful insights that inform design decisions. You'll create compelling reports, presentations, and persona documents to effectively communicate your findings.Shaping the user experience: You'll collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineers to translate your research findings into actionable design solutions that truly resonate with users. You'll witness your research directly impacting the products and services used by thousands of users around the world.Requirements:Have excellent analytical skills and the ability to empathize with users, understanding their needs and the problems they faceAre a good communicator, able to craft compelling narratives based on research findings to drive user-centred decision-makingCan demonstrate experience conducting primary research like surveys, interviews, usability testing, ethnography, etc. (can be coursework or work experience)Studying or have studied a degree or higher qualification in a related discipline e.g. Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), psychology, sociology, or anthropology.
