Chemistry Technician12 months (extension to 2 years/ permanent offering likely)PAYE 37.5 HoursStevenageThe ClientOur client are a global provider of technologies and services that advance and accelerate the development and manufacture of therapeutics.Their portfolio ranges from fundamental biological research to developing innovative vaccines, biologic drugs, and novel cell and gene therapies. Their job is to supply the tools and services - the pots, pans, soups and sauces - they need to work better, faster and safer, leading to better patient outcomes.What youll do:Work closely with Chemists, Materials Scientists, Engineers, and Biologists to support activities including chemical analysis, device fabrication, and applications testingPerform both routine and one-off laboratory testing such as Raman Spectroscopy, LC-MS, thermal analysis and dry weightPreparation of buffers and membrane materials for reactions on small and large scalesRun chemical reactions for modification of membrane materials in flow reactors, following SOPsWrite up experimental findings in Electronic Lab Notebook entries and Technical reportsContribute to lab organisation, e. g. maintaining stocks of reagents and chemical waste disposalWho you are:Either Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline with minimum of 3 months laboratory experience, or Science A-levels (or equivalent) with minimum 2 years laboratory experienceExperience in wet chemistry and/or one or more of the analytical methods listed aboveProficiency in MS Office Applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPointTeamworking ability, attention to detail and interpersonal skillsStrong organisational and prioritisation skills, able to multi-task efficientlyIt would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:Working in the biotechnology industry
