Michelle Denny Recruitment is working with a specialist insurance business, to find them an experienced Senior Data Analyst. Available on a hybrid basis (3 days office | 2 days WFH), the salary package is up to 45,000pa. The company's head office is perfectly placed for a simple commute using the main Norwich train line, situated minutes away from Diss station. The position of Senior Data Analyst is pivotal within the company and your overall remit will be to analyse activity data, investigate trends and make recommendations to support the business operations across the board. Responsibilities will include:Supporting the business needs by analysing activity data, investigating trends & making recommendationsApplying tools and techniques for data analysis and data visualisation (including the use of business information tools)Identifying, collecting, and migrating data to and from a range of systemsBuilding and reviewing complex data models, ensuring adherence to standardsUsing data integration tools and languages to integrate and store data, and advise teams on best practiceDesigning and conducting data quality assurance, validation and linkageIdentifying gaps and performing remediation actionsCompiling the findings into comprehensive, easy-to-access reports for management and all other company stakeholdersCommunicating with stakeholders to understand data content and business requirementsTaking ownership of the organizations data analytics and reporting to empower teams and guide business decisionsDefining and implementing the required remediation actions and preventative measures to ensure the desired data qualityLeveraging analytical skills in order to spot tendencies in dataUsing statistical tools to analyse data and forecast trends with actionable business insightsPromoting and leading processes automation and self-serve solutionsDelivering a continuously improve strategy, advocating good data management practices and recognizing improvement opportunitiesCo-ordinate teams to resolve problems and implement solutions and preventative measuresPerforming peer review colleagues outputs to ensure qualityProviding leadership to junior analystsTraining end-users and more junior members of the teamMaintaining awareness of technology changes within the BI industry Essential expertise:Degree in software engineering/computer science/Business Intelligence/Data Science/Advanced Analytics or a data related fieldStrong knowledge of data modelling, cleansing and standardisationProven working experience in ETL dataStrong knowledge of Power BI (plus DAX)Proficient in Excel, including VBA experienceProficient in MS SQLExcellent problem-solving skills and ability for critical thinkingLogical and creative thinkingAbility to interpret requirements and present data in a clear and compelling wayAccuracy and high attention to detailAbility to work independently and collaboratively with the teamDemonstrated knowledge of data analysis techniquesAdditional expertise that would be advantageous:Experience with Azure and other data toolsExperience in using one or more statistical software packages (R, SPSS, SaS, Stata)Good understanding of Python, or other relevant coding languagesPowerShell knowledgeSharePoint experienceData Warehousing experienceInsurance experienceAwareness of project management techniquesThis national business continues their exciting period of growth and is looking for a talented, amiable Senior Data Analyst to become part of their technical data team.
