Enterprise Risk Manager (non-financial)We have an exciting opportunity for a Compliance and Safety professional.We are seeking a highly skilled and pragmatic Compliance and Safety Manager to join our team in London. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring operational compliance, embedding best practice safety protocols, and supporting operational excellence across all functions. This role requires a commercial mindset to drive efficient and effective processes while maintaining a high standard of health, safety, and regulatory compliance.You will need to enjoy the challenges and opportunities of working in a rapidly growing organisation and also be an excellent communicator able to interact effectively with all levels of seniority.The job is full time and based in our London office.About JOE & THE JUICEJOE & THE JUICE is a fast-growing freshly made juice, coffee, and sandwich concept. We are focused on supporting the business in digitalisation, risk mitigation, and data-driven services and solutions, alongside the physical expansion internationally.Role responsibilitiesCompliance Oversight: Ensure full compliance with food safety regulations, industry standards, and legal requirements. Regularly review and update company policies to reflect current legislation and best practices.Operational Support: Collaborate closely with operations teams to integrate compliance and safety procedures into daily activities. Provide guidance and practical solutions to support operational teams in meeting safety and compliance goals.Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs that ensure staff are equipped with the knowledge and skills to maintain a safe and compliant working environment. Foster a culture of continuous learning and awareness of safety practices at all levels.Internal Audits: Conduct regular audits to assess compliance with internal procedures, legal requirements, and safety standards. Identify gaps and lead corrective actions to mitigate risks and improve processes.Process Optimisation: Work to streamline safety and compliance processes for greater efficiency, identifying opportunities for improvement and supporting a culture of operational excellence. Ensure that safety and compliance measures align with commercial objectives.Risk Management: Proactively identify potential risks related to food safety, employee safety, and regulatory compliance. Provide actionable recommendations to minimise risks and ensure business continuity.Quality Assurance: ensure compliance with product sourcing guides, third party due diligence, ingredient spec sheet review and approval.Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of compliance activities, incidents, audits, and training. Prepare reports for senior leadership, highlighting key metrics, areas of concern, and progress on compliance initiatives.Departmental Champion: be the first contact point for local operations in relation to data privacy, enterprise risk management.Key Qualifications and skillsProven experience in a compliance or safety management role, preferably within the food and beverage industry.Strong knowledge of UK food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, Food Hygiene Regulations) and workplace safety standards.Experience with internal auditing, risk management, and compliance reporting.Ability to balance commercial considerations with a strong commitment to safety and compliance.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with all levels of the organisation.Strong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic, solutions-oriented mindset.NEBOSH or IOSH certification (desirable).Experience in process improvement and embedding operational excellence frameworks.ProcessWe are looking for a candidate to start as soon as possible and will conduct interviews ongoingly
