The ClientA leading banking group is seeking a 5+PQE general banking lawyer with expertise in real estate finance lawyer to join its London-based team. This role is ideal for a legal professional looking to broaden their expertise beyond one area of financing and gain exposure to a diverse range of legal matters.The RoleAs a key member of the legal team, you will provide expert advice on a range of finance matters, supporting the banks lending activities across multiple jurisdictions.This is a fantastic opportunity to engage with senior stakeholders across the business and play a strategic role in the banks growth.Key ResponsibilitiesAdvising on finance transactions with a primary focus on real estate financing and also including project financing, trade and receivables financing, Islamic financing, secondary market participations (funded and risk), BAFT trade risk participations, supply contract reviews, ISDAs, GMRAs and NDAs.Managing legal risk and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulationsDrafting, reviewing and negotiating bank standard form loan agreements, security documents, and related financing instruments and reviewing the underlying due diligence reports.Collaborating closely with business, credit, risk, and product teams to support business objectivesHorizon scanning to monitor and assess legal and regulatory developmentsManaging relationships with external counsel when requiredThe Successful candidateQualified solicitor (UK or equivalent) with 5+ years' PQE in real estate finance or general financeBackground in a leading law firm or in-house at a financial institutionCommercially minded with excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skillsMust be willing to learn and adapt to working in the specific areas outlined above and any other lending products or areas the bank expands into.A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Please note that candidates with the relevant experience outside of the above mentioned PQE level would be considered for this position
