Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to manage our civil engineering contract at Fawley refinery in Southampton. This is a senior position, and the Project Manager is responsible for the safe, timely and profitable delivery of all projects at the refinery, comprising of civil engineering, facilities management and reactive maintenance. This is a full-time site-based, working 45 hours each week Monday to Friday.All applicants must have the right to work in the UKReporting to the Contracts Manager, responsibilities include but are not limited to;Performing a leadership role, responsible for overseeing all live projects at Fawley refineryOverseeing a large team of 75+ at any one timeResponsible for commercial performance and interaction with the commercial teamWorking closely with the SHEQ team to ensure the safe delivery of works, updating on environmental issues, and ensuring qualityReviewing upcoming work and working with the bid team to produce tendersAttending progress meetingsTaking responsibility for the programme and working closely with the Planning teamCarry out regular site visits, ensuring consistently high standards of safety and quality at all timesProblem solving and people management and leading by exampleInfluence change and improvementClient interface; attending regular meetings with the client and reporting on the projects and completion timelinesRepresenting Trant at union meetings and working closely with the unionsWorking very closely with the commercial team and ensuring projects are being managed in line with the contractSkills, knowledge & qualification requirements;BEng/HND in Civil EngineeringCSCSA background of delivering civil engineering projects within an Oil & Gas/Petrochem environment is preferred but not essentialAppreciation / solid understanding of Health & Safety legislation A strong manager of people Analytical and problem-solving skillsIT literate with experience of using Microsoft Word, Excel Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and work with staff at all levelsCompany Benefits:At Trant, we offer the opportunity for career development within a safe, professional, and friendly working environment.
