The hospital was rated amongst the top 10 hospitals in UK, both private and NHS, for its patients experiences.The role:In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high standards of clinical patient care within the operating theatre department. This includes the recovery area and the repatriation of patients back to ward based areas.Core Responsibilities:A hands on role, leading by exampleProvide administrative, organisational and managerial leadershipTo work with the Theatre Director and Deputy Theatre Manager in the delivery, standards and management of patient care within the theatre suite.Recognise Consultant Surgeons key role and support them with their clinical and administrative assistance as requiredMaximise theatre utilisation across both theatres 6 days per weekEnsure effective use of resourcesHarness the use of new technologies where appropriateMonitor and assist in the continued audit of patient outcomesEncourage, develop and enhance the skills, knowledge and clinical competencies of all theatre staff and of selfPromote best evidence-based practiceApply and ensure others comply with legislation, policies and proceduresRespect the patients dignity, privacy, wishes and beliefsLead the multi-disciplinary team, providing high quality pre and post-operative patient-centred care and customer service.Provide guidance, support and clinical scrub expertise and leadership to the Theatre team.Ensure that theatres are prepared for use on a daily basis in line with quality standards.Comply with internal procedures to ensure equipment is maintained/serviced in line with manufacturers instructions, reporting any defects.Ensure that all required documentation (legal, quality or other) is accurately maintained.In accordance with policies and procedures, ensure that medicines administration and management is carried out appropriately.Coordinate and maintain adequate stock levels of drugs, stores and implants liaising with the Theatre Manager and / Procurement.Maintain effective communication across the hospital, including with patients, team members and consultants.Who we are looking for:EssentialRegistered with the NMC or HCPC.Strong clinical background as a Senior Scrub Practitioner in all types of surgery includingbut not limited to; general, orthopeadic, ENT, ophthalmic, cosmetic/plasticAbility to demonstrate high standards of verbal and written communication.Strong time management and organisational skills.Ability to work flexibly, take accountability and respond to urgent matters in a calm, well-measured and informed manner.Basic IT skillsAbility to present information accurately, clearly and concisely.DesirableSurgical First Assistant trained/qualifiedAbility to demonstrate high standards of verbal and written communication.Strong time management and organisational skills.Ability to work flexibly, take accountability and respond to urgent matters in a calm, well-measured and informed manner.Ability to present information accurately, clearly and concisely.Basic IT skillsWhat we offer:Competitive salary based on experience and skill set247.5 hours of annual leave per yearCompany pensionEmployee Health & Wellbeing support serviceDiscounted on-site food & drinksEmployee, friends & family discountsCompany eventsCompany pensionDiscounted or free foodWellness programWe are proud to be offering this opportunity as a Real Living Wage and Disability Confident Committed employer.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentPay: From 55,000
