You must live in the UK to apply for this role.The successful applicant will be:Ideally based within a commutable distance to the Huddersfield office, the probationary period will require you to work full-time at our offices (3-6 months depending on your experience), to gain an understanding of our systems and get to know the team.Be an excellent communicator with experience liaising with all parties.Have a good understanding of RIBA and JCT Contracts.Willing to travel for site visits and meetings.Have a good understanding of preparing, negotiating and analysing costs for tenders and contracts.Able to undertake cost exercises for potential projects, undertake valuations for ongoing building projects and provide instructions to contractors as and when they arise.Show a skillset that demonstrates an understanding of buildings and construction methods, along with an understanding of technical drawings and construction.The role will be varied, split between office, home working and visiting sites/properties. The successful applicant will be expected to travel to manage the projects F+A have onsite.SalaryTo be negotiated, to be based on your level of experience and salary expectations, however, a range of 35k-45k is likely.Circumstances, Qualifications and ExperienceThe successful applicant must already be:Based in the UK.We will not acceptanyapplications from those wishing to travel to the UK in advance of this job opportunity.Ideally located within a commutable location to Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.An accredited degree in Quantity Surveying or similar.Ideally hold or be working towards an appropriate professional body membership or equivalent, such as RICS or CIOB.Strong contractual knowledge of JCT and RIBA Contracts.Proficient in Microsoft packages with a strong focus on Excel and/or other costing software.Able to work unsupervised and maintain projects momentum.Able to manage a clients expectations and ensure good communication throughout the lifecycle of a building project.Experience within a similar role.Specific Responsibilities and Activities within your roleEstimating and preparing cost reports for proposed schemes.Assisting with the tender process, including reviewing the full tender pack. You will be aware of the information and preparation of documents that are required to do so, and will be able to assist in the preparation of schedules for building contractors to price from.Reviewing tender analysis received from tender process. You will show experience of negotiating with building contractors and establishing accurate costs once tenders have been returned.Reviewing valuations, applications, and managing procurement payments. Diligently handle all instructions and maintain comprehensive records.Measure and value works carried out on site.Final account preparation.Attending site visits and meetings.Provide contract support to the design team.Take instructions from design team members and work with team members on projects.
