Purpose of the roleThe Logistics Coordinator (FTC) ensures the efficient movement of goods by managing transportation, customs compliance, and delivery coordination. Supporting the Transport Manager, this role optimizes shipping methods, handles documentation, resolves transit issues, and maintains supply chain efficiency, particularly within the high fashion industry. This will be a fixed term contract for a period of 3-6 months.ResponsibilitiesTransportation Management: Support the Transport Manager in coordinating the transportation of goods, selecting the most appropriate mode of transport (air, sea, road) based on cost, time, and product characteristics. Organize truck transport within Italy for vendor collections.Customs Compliance: Prepare and submit all necessary customs documentation, including import/export declarations, certificates of origin, commercial invoice and other required paperwork. Ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation, submit to customs authorities, and support inspections. Maintain and update the product catalogue for customs compliance, liaising with production.Provide guidance, perform quick document checks and offer advice to different departments and/or Suppliers with short notice. Monitor hold/complete/released shipments in transit with Customs to ensure SLAs are met.Compile and distribute shipping documentation. Warehouse & Delivery Coordination: Coordinate pickup and delivery times with clients and carriers. Manage and troubleshoot orders encountering transit and/or delivery issues and implement timely solutions, particularly for goods from Italy to the UK (via courier or hand carry). Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all logistics activities, including shipment documentation, customs declarations, and invoices. Prepare reports and analyses on transportation performance and costs. Order Management: Manage internal orders, including special delivery arrangements and/or PR requests. Monitor and log carrier/freight forwarder costs. Problem Solving & Support: Handle stock queries and delivery discrepancies. Be prepared to support with any logistics/shipping expertise as needed, including hand-carrying goods when necessary.QualificationsProven experience in logistics coordination, preferably within the high fashion industry.Strong understanding of international shipping regulations and customs procedures.Excellent organizational and time-management skills.Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
