SUMMARY:The Associate Product Manager (APM) position is designed to allow you to develop the necessary skills and knowledge needed to become a Product Manager. You will work closely with the other Associate Product Managers (APMs), Product Managers and Buyers supporting the day-to-day operations of the department. The primary focus is on maintaining the internal Price & Delivery (P&D) system, part number setup and interfacing with Suppliers, Sales Teams, and external customers. As an APM, you will work towards managing a smaller number of product lines where you would be responsible for defining the product vision. In conjunction with the purchasing team, you would be expected to ensure inventory stays within the departments KPIs and ultimately that the products you manage are profitable and support the companys overall strategy and goals. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Minimum High school diplomaDemonstrated success in supporting electrical/electronic products.2+ years of experience within an electrical/electronic manufacturing, reseller or distribution market.Second language in German or French desirable, but not essentialTECHNICAL and/or MANAGERIAL JOB COMPETENCIES:Microsoft Office proficiency, with emphasis on advanced Excel skillsExcellent PC skills Familiarity with business management software such as ERP/MRP (ASW), inventory management etc., is preferred.Ability to recognise potential problems and react quickly and effectively to solve.ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Ensures integrity of system information including cost, resale, packaging information, descriptions, and other part data maintenance.Establish, maintain & develop effective relationships with existing and new suppliers.Assume responsibility and manage the setting up of part numbers, bill of materials in the ASW (MRP) system and internal price and delivery module, in association with the Product Managers. Responsible for product positioning, risk analysis, pricing, including creating specific packages to achieve competitive advantages within the marketplace whilst maintaining profitability. As well as bespoke pricing for individual sales tenders/clients.Work with purchasing to manage inventory levels, process stock rotations and returns in line with sales requirements and budgets.Work with purchasing to negotiate pricing with suppliers and scheduling annual supplier blanket orders.In conjunction with your team and marketing, work on promotional materials.Be the Champion for the products and provide effective customer service and support to internal stakeholders and end users.In conjunction with Senior PMs define the product strategy and roadmap.Work with the Senior PM to establish a budget for each product group/line.Set pricing, sales volume and profitability based upon size of market, competition and customer feedback and in line with company goals.Brief and train other Associate Product Managers and Product Managers and the sales force at regular meetings (UK & Europe).Work with suppliers, PEI sales and quality in regard to the disposition of defective goods.
