We believe in a sustainable world where we no longer have to choose between our favourite foods, our health, and our future.The roleWe are looking for an experienced Senior Process Engineer to join our team to manage our fermentation and bioreactor scale-up strategy. The ideal candidate should be an expert in engineering and bioreactor scalability, and have previous experience with bioreactor design work. They should be passionate about technology & sustainability, with a strong entrepreneurial drive.Key responsibilities Lead our work around bioreactor design optimisation and adaptation, with a focus on scaling up our patent-pending fermentation process into larger vessels.Help design our pilot and commercial production facilities.Develop and improve manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, quality and safety.Identify and implement process improvements to reduce costs, minimise waste and increase efficiency.Monitor and analyse process performance metrics, such as yield, productivity, titer, and develop strategies to meet or exceed targets.Establish strategic partnerships to support our goals, and manage our existing R&D partners (CMOs, R&D partners, etc.)Establish and oversee key experiments at lab and pilot scaleRequirements5+ years experience in process engineeringBSc or MSc in Engineering (chemical, mechanical, industrial or similar)Experience scaling up a bioprocess at large volumes (>1000L)Extensive experience in fermentation processes across a wide range of organisms.The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of fungal fermentationStrong background in aerobic fermentations, oxygen uptake, kLa and mass transferExperience with different types of fermentationProficient in ALL of the following: process analysis, process modelling, statistical analysis, simulation software, and computer-aided design (CAD) tools.Strategic and analytical mind-set, able to find new ways to reach company goalsExcellent communications skillsSelf-motivated and able to drive work as part of a hybrid teamPassion for food, the plant-based industry, and sustainabilityBenefitsCompetitive salaryFlexible workingCompany share optionsTeam socials and away days and regular product tastingsChance to create and set up many of the companys processes & goalsHow to apply: Please send your CV to contact@adamofoods.com.
