Head of Physical Education Key Responsibilities: Lead the planning, development, and delivery of a well-sequenced and inclusive PE curriculum for KS3, KS4, and KS5. Drive exceptional progress and outcomes for all student groups within the department, ensuring achievement is closely monitored and areas for development are addressed. Mentor and support teachers in the PE team, promoting high standards of teaching and learning. Oversee enrichment opportunities, including sports clubs, fixtures, and events, to inspire students and nurture talent. Foster a positive learning environment that promotes teamwork, resilience, and excellent attitudes to learning. Collaborate with senior leaders to align departmental goals with whole-school priorities. Head of Physical Education Essential Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with extensive experience teaching PE across key stages. Proven track record of raising attainment and developing a successful PE curriculum. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate colleagues. Commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion within the curriculum and wider school community. A passion for physical education and the ability to instil a lifelong love of sport and fitness in students.
