ROLE OVERVIEW //We are recruiting for a Commercial Data Manager to join our Pricing and Analytics team based at the firms head office in London. This is a 12-month FTC opportunity and will report to the Director of Pricing and Analytics.Complete, accurate and thoughtfully curated data underpins all our reporting and analysis and facilitate informed decision-making in relation to client relationship management, resource allocation, pricing and practice area analysis.The successful candidate will work closely with the firms Information Governance Officer to implement the framework set out by the firms data strategy. The candidate will also ensure consistency and compliance with the firms data catalogue and taxonomy. They will organise and manage a network of Data Stewards across the firm, sitting within practice streams and business departments.They will need to understand the specific business requirements (i.e., what the data will be used for), the data currently being collected, any gaps that need to be plugged and the human, technical and compliance considerations when it comes to effectively capturing and maintaining that data.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES //The key responsibilities of this role are set out below and there may be others which are not listed. You may be required on occasion to work outside our normal working hours of 9:30am to 5:30pm.Data Review and AnalysisConduct comprehensive reviews of certain categories of client and matter data to identify gaps and inconsistencies.Ensure data integrity and accuracy across various systems and databases.Develop and implement data quality metrics and reporting mechanisms.Work alongside the Information Governance Officer to ensure all data collated meets the firms required standards, format and adheres to the firms Data Principles.Development of a Data Steward NetworkTogether with the Information Governance Officer:Develop and maintain a network of data stewards across the firm.Provide training and support to data stewards to ensure adherence to Data Principles and governance policies.Facilitate regular meetings and communications among data stewards to address data-related issues.Policy and Procedure In the context of client and matter data, enforce the firms Data Principles working with the Information Governance OfficerWork with other data and information security professionals within the firm to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to data management.Stakeholder EngagementWork closely with senior business stakeholders to understand data needs and priorities.Communicate data governance initiatives and progress to senior management.Foster a culture of data stewardship and accountability within the firm.Data to Support New Reporting and AnalysisWork closely with Technology and the business to help launch a new suite of matter-related taxonomies.Data Capture Process ImprovementAssess current data capture processes and identify areas for improvement.Collaborate with various departments to streamline data entry and management practices.Implement best practices for data collection.Alongside the Data Administrator, actively chase missing information required for specific reporting.CANDIDATE PROFILE //Candidates for this position must have:Self-starter, keen to take ownership of the role and develop it.Project/change management act as a change agent with respect to data governance and related projects.Exceptional influencing skills and motivational speaker.Creative problem-solver and open to new ideas.Leadership skills.Collaborative style.High levels of energy, enthusiasm, and a passion to succeed in a dynamic environment.Personal pride in producing high quality work (e.g., excellent attention to detail and good use of grammar).Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to multi-task, keep calm under pressure and work to tight deadlines.
