Your role in elevating the East Midlands The Investment Programme Lead will drive improved economic outcomes through the EMCCA-wide investment portfolio. This role leads the team responsible for the strategic approach to investment, ensuring the portfolio aligns with the Strategic Framework and regional strategies. The team will build strong relationships with all EMCCA teams and partners involved in the investment portfolio. You will also oversee economic-focused interventions, including the East Midlands Investment Zone and other legacy LEP programmes. This role reports directly to the Head of Investment Strategy and Programmes. Key responsibilities include: Supporting EMCCA and our partners on urgent investment matters, creating systems, behaviours, and a culture that maximises the value of the investment portfolio, which is expected to grow to 500 million annually within five years, in line with the Strategic framework. You will ensure our investments align with strategic goals by leading an investment portfolio management approach. This will provide the EMCCA Board and Senior Leadership Team with a comprehensive view of all EMCCA investments and their progress against agreed objectives and milestones. Facilitating the delivery of key EMCCA strategic programmes, such as the 160m EMIZ Programme, to ensure that funds are correctly invested and planned for as well as cross-fertilising other projects to enable best value for money to be achieved. Managing and delivering existing investment opportunities whilst also maintaining a compelling forward pipeline of investible propositions for the region. Leading on the monitoring and reporting of investment decisions ensuring that programmes and projects are utilising funds and outputs/outcomes are being delivered. Ensuring compliance of funding agreements and arrangements with internal EMCCA teams such as Legal, Governance and Procurement on funding decisions Supporting the work across EMCCA on the development of economic investment and intervention design and delivery as a professional discipline, ensuring investment decisions in all parts of the organisation are informed by learning and data from the existing portfolio. Leading the investment team to ensure projects and programmes of work are delivered to targets. Helping to build and maintain a strong, collaborative network with local, regional, and national partners. Your profile: Relevant degree, or with equivalent relevant experience in economic strategy, policy, and investment within a combined authority or similar organisation. Proven experience in managing and developing high-performing teams. Youll provide strong and visible leadership to your team whilst creating a corporate, collaborative, and supportive culture and working environment. Awareness and interest in devolution and regional policy. Ability to manage change effectively in political and sensitive environments. Success in building strong, enduring cross-sector partnerships and stakeholder relationships. Strong communicator with experience of handling relationships across a complicated private and public sector landscape, providing confident and effective engagement with partners and external stakeholders. Demonstrate a high standard of personal and professional integrity as well as ethics, values, and personal qualities consistent with the vision, culture, and values of the EMCCA.
