The successful candidate will be expected to work as a Production Operative but also to assume overall responsibility for the shift in the absence of the Shift Supervisor. You will be expected to adhere to our policies and procedures particularly in relation to food safety, health and safety and human resources.Newly Weds Foods BanburyThe Banbury site has been part of the Newly Weds Foods family since 2010. During that time our employee team has grown, and we now employ over 250 people. We have a Bakery, Blend factory and a dedicated Gluten Free factory. We operate over a range of shifts in our production facilities, have on site services including a QA team, Engineers, Supply Chain, Logistics, Payroll and HR and we also have a dedicated on-site R&D team.The PositionThis role, of Team Leader, would involving working as a Production Operative within the Gluten Free Blend department (where the main activities include weighing up, mixing, packing, stacking and material handling), whilst assisting the Gluten Free Blend Shift Supervisor by coordinating and supervising the department. The Team Leader would assume overall responsibility of the shift (in terms of labour, quality, performance, sanitation and IT) in the absence of the Shift Supervisor. This is a physically demanding role and involves consistently lifting bags, throughout the shift, that weigh up to 25kgs.The working hours would be a 12-hour continental dayshift pattern (the working hours are 7am to 7pm and one week you will be working Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday and the next week you would be working Wednesday and Thursday, and so on)Role ResponsibilitiesQuality Ensure product is manufactured to the required specification and that product packaging and labelling is correct, adhering to Corporate Quality Standards and ensuring that a high level of quality is maintained through all production processesDocumentation Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed correctly and in a timely manner Ensure all relevant records are added onto the computer in a timely manner To assist in the review and update (where necessary) of all work instructions and procedures when requiredSanitation Ensure that the work area is clean at all times, adhering to Corporate Sanitation Standards and ensuring that the department is operating to the highest standards of hygieneHealth & Safety Ensure that all tasks are conducted safely, adhering to NWF Health & Safety Regulations workingin accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and to follow all company procedures. Report any hazard to a your shift or department managerSupervisory Responsibilities To assume overall responsibility for the shift (in terms of labour, quality, performance, sanitation and IT perspectives) in the absence of the Blend Shift Supervisor.
