Job type: Permanent/ Full TimeSchedule: 45 hours a week, including two weekends a month.Body Works West is a boutique health club in the heart of Notting Hill. We are an independent, family-owned business. Our members have access to best-in-class trainers and fitness instructors, state of the art gym, three studios, pool and spa facilities in a welcoming and relaxed environment. With the opening of a brand-new club in Spring 2025 and the refurbishment of the existing club, this is an exciting time to join our business.ABOUT THE ROLEAs Operations Manager, you will support overall club operations and be an integral part of the management team. The ideal candidate must be flexible to working on weekends, be a natural leader and be familiar with working under pressure. This is a great role for a person with management experience in the health and fitness or hospitality industry.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESHealth, Safety & SecurityAct as the Health and Safety Officer for Body Works West, ensuring club safety standardsImplement all policies and procedures relating to Health, Hygiene and Fire Safety.Ensure all fire alarm testing, and logbooks are kept up to date.Organise and keep clear records of Pool and Spa Tests.Ensure all of our staff are trained on all health and safety protocols and emergency procedures.Club MaintenanceEnsure that cleanliness standards are maintained across all areas of the club.Liaise with the contracted cleaning company on a regular basis.Manage weekly maintenance tasks and keep a log of task completion and liaise with Maintenance Manager.Ensure the club is following proper Risk Management and Loss Prevention procedures.Monitor safety and security of club.Conduct scheduled club walk throughs.Maintain high visibility during peak club hours.Member ExperienceDeliver exceptional member experience.Respond to member concerns and handle member issues.Support team delivering an effective member retention strategy.Skills and experience requiredStrong and influential leadership skills.Highly self-motivated with a proactive attitude.A confident and clear communicator.Goal-oriented with the ability to track and achieve KPIs.Excellent organisational and administrative skills.Minimum of two years management experience in a similar roleIn addition to your basic salary, you will be entitled to a bonus and a complimentary Club Membership for you and one for a friend or family member.
