Magdalene is looking to recruit an Engineering Technical Lead who will be responsible to lead on all technical requirements relating to our large scale exchange enablement works. This will include project managing the builds cradle to grave as well as leading the supporting build team. You will be responsible for all financial accounting of the projects with a view of managing stakeholders both internally and externally. Who are we? Key responsibilities Safety Accountable for ensuring safe working practices are followed covering all aspects of work on your chosen projects Ensuring all RAMS & CPPs are completed as required under CDM Responsible for overseeing any safety incidents that may occur through to resolution Finance P&L ownership against budget Timely invoicing of completed works in line with project requirements Management of project cost centre and OPEX GWIP accountability Monthly financial reporting and project profitability escalation Delivery Planning of works to ensure all is underpinned with required dependencies (resource, permitting, access etc) Ensuring planned works are in line with commercial requirements allowing for known attrition (Planned works is greater then target) Ensure PMO resource levels are in line with budget to meet demand Ensure all project reporting is in line with both client and business requirements (Ops reviews) Stakeholder management covering day to day delivery activities both internal and external (Client, resource & Magdalene) Manage interface between internal (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Infrastructure Deployment, Networking, Operations, Security, Fiber, Finance etc.) and external stakeholders (Contractors, Colo Vendors and Corporate Supply chain) to ensure on time and on budget delivery of Data Center/exchange enablement projects. In charge of setting the projects technical direction and framework of standards and procedures. Determines, understands and documents the Technical goals from Tender / Contract, specific requirements and the kick-off meeting documentation. Drafting and ownership of all architectural and design Documentation Responsible for recruiting and running multiple teams across different work streams from minor upgrades to datacentre rebuilds. Support continuous process improvement through leading workflow updates, documenting & implementing lessons learned and sharing knowledge across delivery teams. Close co-working relationship between different departmental heads , Operations , commercial, financial SHEQ and managing client reporting. Leadership Performance leadership of direct report(s) and wider team through documented monthly/quarterly 1:1 Celebrate positive performance Support and challenge where performance and/or behaviours do not align with delivery requirements Support growth and career progression Monthly team meetings Responsible for highlighting and driving business improvement and change initiatives either business led or locally driven (System improvements, process improvements, reporting etc) Ensure all training activities are carried out within set timeframes Responsible for ensuring time booking through FSL is accurate and signed off within set timeframes Essential skills Working knowledge of H&S / Environmental Legislation CDM2015 including SMSTS plus NRSWA Experience working & leading on BT exchange enablement works Have excellent Commercial awareness in Telecoms and able to understand the impact of certain decisions for both Magdalene & Client Experience in previous Telecoms Projects at Senior Level Ability to support and lead a team of Delivery managers and Coordinators Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and the capability to quickly learn about Magdalene core IT systems is essential Ability to travel nationally as required Engineering Degree, specialized in telecom engineering discipline with 5 years experience in Data Room / Exchange and /or Data Centre environment. Previous people management and project management experience. Excellent technical knowledge and skills. Strong organisational skills. A passion for coaching and mentoring. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Experience working with Power and HVAC systems as well as HV and LV switching equipment QS background would be advantageous.
