Finance Director Weir Minerals Latam Hybrid Purpose of Role: This role plays a key strategic role in aligning commercial objectives with financial performance. This role focuses on business partnering, supporting strategic decision-making, optimizing revenue, and ensuring profitable growth while leveraging the expertise of the COEs (Center of expertise), acting as a bridge between the business and finance, utilizing insights from FP&A, F&A, and Operations COEs to drive informed decision-making in sales, pricing, contracts, and overall business strategy. By leveraging the expertise of the FP&A COE, the Finance Commercial Manager ensures that financial forecasting, budgeting, and business planning align with organizational goals. Collaboration with the F&A COE ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance, and transaction management, while partnership with the Operations CoE helps in optimizing costs, improving efficiency, and ensuring operational strategies translate into financial success. This role serves as a business partner to commercial teams, working closely with sales, procurement, and operations to evaluate pricing strategies, assess financial viability of contracts, and drive margin improvement. The Finance Commercial Manager also provides critical financial insights during contract negotiations, investment decisions, and strategic initiatives such as market expansion, new product launches, and cost optimization projects. Key Responsibilities: The Finance Commercial is responsible for aligning financial strategies with Business strategies playing a crucial role in the informed decision-making process. This position requires a combination of financial expertise, strategic thinking, and effective communication. The responsibilities include but are not limited to: Commercial Finance & Business Partnering Act as the key finance partner to commercial teams, providing financial insights to drive strategic business decisions. Collaborate with the FP&A COE to analyze revenue trends, profitability, and financial forecasts. Work with the Operations COE to optimize costs, improve efficiency, and assess financial impact of operational changes. Leverage data from the F&A COE to ensure financial transactions, reporting, and compliance align with business needs. Collaborate with other future COEs to be implemented in the future. Work closely with cross-functional teams to assess the financial impact of proposed strategies and projects. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, fostering effective communication and collaboration. Review and assist with investment proposals and the subsequent assessment of the effectiveness of investments, including current and non-current assets. Revenue & Profitability Management Analyze product, service, and customer profitability to optimize pricing strategies. Provide financial insights to support contract negotiations, ensuring commercial terms align with profitability targets. Identify margin improvement opportunities through cost control and operational efficiencies. Financial Planning & Strategic Support Support the FP&A COE in developing financial models and business cases for new initiatives. Drive long-term financial strategy by assessing the financial viability of expansion plans and market opportunities. Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's, divisional and group goals and objectives. Evaluate potential investments and business opportunities, conducting cost-benefit analysis and risk assessments. Risk & Compliance Management Collaborate with the F&A COE to monitor financial risks, credit exposure, working capital management and cash. Support internal and external audits by providing insights on financial and operational risks. Ensure strong financial controls, governance, auditing and compliance through close collaboration and supervision to F&A COE maintaining a strong control environment. Ensure compliance with and maintain a thorough knowledge of accounting and related legislation. Operational & Performance Optimization Partner with the Operations COE to drive cost efficiencies and working capital improvements. Support supply chain and procurement decisions with financial analysis. Support the leverage technology and automation to improve financial processes and reporting accuracy. Maximize working capital utilization, cashflow generation, and asset utilization. Multi-site cost analysis; business case development; capital expenditure reviews; potential site consolidations; and new product development investments. Maximize Performance excellence benefits. Cross-Functional Leadership & Stakeholder Management Act as a liaison between business leaders and finance COEs, ensuring alignment of financial and commercial goals. Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and CPA (or equivalent) required, master’s degree desirable A minimum of 5 years of progressive Finance (or related) experience including accounting, cost and FP&A with exposure to the business partner roles. Has worked in complex environments and lead difficult projects and initiatives. Sound working knowledge of financial processes and implemented key improvements. Working knowledge and understanding of SAP, IFRS as well as standard cost accounting. Advanced capabilities in Excel, SAP and data analytics tools (Power BI, etc.). English (Upper intermediate). Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with diverse stakeholders. Strong knowledge of financial modeling, forecasting techniques, and financial reporting. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in an easy-to-understand manner.
