Job Description

As the Corporate Security Director LATAM , you will help make PPG the best place to work and invest in by developing strategies that provide a secure environment for all our assets (people, products, and property). You will be responsible for PPG’s LATAM security strategy and team and will support companywide activities in cargo security, asset protection, executive protection, crisis management, threat intelligence, and organized crime to lead compliance and continuous improvement. You will promote a culture of asset protection and security awareness, working integrating physical security risk management practices to reduce the risk to the company. You will be the leader on LATAM security matters for our partners including operations, supply chain, human resources, legal, compliance, and the Chief Security Officer. This role is based in Mexico City. Key Responsibilities Set the vision for PPG’s LATAM security program, aligned with Global Security and goals. Develop the implementation of near and long-term security strategy and goals according to our goals and culture. You will develop a high-performing team of security practitioners to ensure the execution of our security strategy and goals. Identify security risks that may affect us and create strategies to reduce and avoid exposure. Using knowledge of the security industry, threat intelligence, and trends within the company, develop regional security procedures which align with Global Security strategy to safeguard company associates, products, and property. Be an important advisor to the LATAM leadership team to ensure understanding of weaknesses, deficiencies, and challenges within our security programs. Develop a security assessment program to detect and resolve vulnerabilities that could lead to safety risks, theft, fraud, or property loss. Improve PPG’s cargo theft security program. Oversee and responsive investigative program to address criminal activity and misconduct issues. Keep leadership informed of investigative matters. Ensure each company facility is compliant with the PPG Crisis Management Program. Work with Global Security to develop cost-effective technical security countermeasures at all PPG sites. Manage the LATAM security operations center to ensure proactive and accurate monitoring, meaningful intelligence analysis, and swift incident response. Coordinate exceptional security services for all major Company and Board events including annual meetings, sales expos, investor events, and other similar-type events. Foster connections with multiple law enforcement, intelligence agencies, organizations, and partners to stay informed on trends and practices. Build a team to ensure the PPG’s Global Security strategy is performed, including hiring talent, onboarding and coaching. Lead annual talent calibrations. Be the PPG LATAM Global Security leader in presenting security programs and updates to senior leadership and other partner groups. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in political science, criminal justice, information security, business, homeland security, or related field. Certification as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). 10+ years of relevant experience working with law enforcement and governmental agencies. 5+ years of relevant experience in physical security risk management with large public company (with a recognizable profile) with previous responsibility for corporate security, executive protection, organized retail crime, intelligence, and investigations required. Fluency in English and Spanish is required. Portuguese is a plus. Experience working with partners at all levels of the organization to manage projects, improve performance while maintaining long-term strategies. Excellent ability to develop and present business plans and strategies to influence company decision makers. This is a hybrid remote/in-office role.
