In 2018, IIT Delhi was granted the special status of Institution of Eminence by the Govt. of India, providing greater autonomy in hiring and collaborations.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site role for an Embedded System Engineer at Lab on a chip & Biosensors Group of Prof. Sandeep K. Jha at Centre for Biomedical Engineering, IIT Delhi. The Embedded System Engineer will be responsible for tasks related to embedded hardware assembly, Python based coding for Arduino and raspberry Pi, PCB and ASIC development, 3D printed chassis designing, optoelecteronics integration, signal conditioning and presentation, wireless data transfer.The candidate shall be responsible for developing and integrating complete hardware set for microfluidics operations to be used in a new Microfluidic devices and/or systems for automated microfluidic liquid handling for biomedical applications that we are developing. With successful completion of 1 year on a funded project as Sr. Scientist post, the candidate shall have opportunity to get enrolled for regular Ph.D. program at IIT Delhi in the same lab.Qualifications & ExperiencesEmbedded Hardware and Software Development skillsElectrical Engineering and Electronics expertise with PCB designing and assembling the components using SMD solderingCAD designing in AutoCAD, Solidworks, Autodesk Fusion,Experience in FDM 3D printer operation for printing tools and components for hardware assembly (for alignments etc.)Proficiency in Internet of Things (IoT) with USB, Bluetooth, memory card write, communication protocols and signal processing (FFT and moving average smoothing)Experience with hardware/software integration, display interfacing (TFT touch screen e.g. Nextion interfacing for signal data display)Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation or related field with GATE score >400 and 7 CGPA in Masters degree OR 7.5 CGPA in Bachelor's degree. These criterias are needed for conversion to Ph.D. Program but not a pre-requisite if interested to work as Senior/Principal Scientist/Engineer's post latter. Possibility to get absorbed in PI's startup upon satisfactory performance.Knowledge of programming languages such as C/C++ and Python, LabVIEW and Matlab. Self coding experience in Arduino is a must (not using ChatGPT), as hardware interfacing will be complex.Six days work week and difficulty level of job as you can imagine commensurate to India's top academic Institute.
