Position Overview: The General Manager of Sales will be responsible for overseeing and directing all aspects of the sales function within the organization. This role is critical to driving revenue growth, managing sales teams, developing strategies, and ensuring the sales objectives align with the company’s overall goals. The General Manager of Sales will lead by example, foster a high-performance sales culture, and build strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve company revenue goals. Forecast and analyze sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities to adapt strategies accordingly. Set clear sales objectives, KPIs, and targets for the sales teams. Collaborate with senior leadership to align sales initiatives with the company’s vision and growth objectives. Lead, mentor, and manage the sales teams to ensure high levels of performance and accountability. Provide training, coaching, and professional development to enhance the skills and capabilities of the sales team. Conduct regular performance evaluations and support the recruitment process for new sales talent. Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, ensuring the team remains motivated to exceed targets. Build and maintain relationships with key customers, partners, and other stakeholders. Engage with high-value clients and prospects, often participating in high-level sales negotiations. Monitor customer feedback and satisfaction to continuously improve product offerings and services. Develop and refine sales processes and systems to improve efficiency and productivity. Oversee the use of CRM tools and sales technology to track performance, manage leads, and monitor sales cycles. Ensure the sales department meets or exceeds budgeted revenue, gross margin, and profitability targets. Provide regular sales reports, forecasts, and insights to the executive team. Analyze sales data and adjust tactics based on trends and feedback. Identify key market segments and opportunities for expansion. Work closely with the marketing department to develop aligned go-to-market strategies. Collaborate with product and service development teams to ensure offerings meet customer demands and market needs. Communicate with finance and operations teams to ensure the smooth flow of information and accurate reporting.Qualifications & Skills:Masters Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.Experience:Proven experience (typically 6+ years) in sales leadership or management roles, with a track record of success in meeting or exceeding sales targets. Strong experience managing a large sales team and driving performance. Experience in [industry-specific sales experience, e.g., B2B, technology, manufacturing, etc.] is highly preferred.Skills:Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. Proven ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies. Expertise in CRM software and sales management tools.
