Job OverviewWe are looking for a Mortgage Application Processing Analyst with experience in handling UK/US mortgage applications. The ideal candidate should have expertise in customer due diligence (CDD), anti-money laundering (AML), and fraud detection within mortgage processes. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage high-volume applications while ensuring compliance with regulations and service-level agreements (SLAs).Key ResponsibilitiesReview and screen mortgage applications (residential owner-occupied and buy-to-let properties, both individual and trading company names).Validate customer data and documentation, identifying inaccuracies and ensuring compliance with AML, CDD, and fraud prevention policies.Ensure timely case progression, adhering to set deadlines and service KPIs.Review and validate income evidence (e.g., payslips, P60s, SA302s, financial accounts, business plans) and customer due diligence documentation.Cross-check credit reference reports, EPC reports, and Companies House searches for mortgage applications.Apply UK mortgage policies and ensure correct packaging requirements for underwriting.Identify complex cases requiring manual referral to onshore teams and escalate promptly.Maintain accurate system records and documentation, updating relevant mortgage origination platforms.Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) while assessing mortgage valuations, certificates of title, and post-offer documents.Support the improvement of processes to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.Key RequirementsMust-Have:Experience working in a UK/US mortgage process.2-4 years of overall experience, with at least 1 year in mortgage underwriting.Strong understanding of the UK/US mortgage market and experience handling mortgage applications.Expertise in AML, CDD, and fraud detection in mortgage processing.Excellent verbal and written communication skills for broker and customer interactions.Ability to work in a high-paced, high-volume environment while ensuring accuracy.Proficiency in UK mortgage origination systems and supporting tools (e.g., Quest, Lender Hub, Kama, Companies House).Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Good to Have:UK mortgage underwriting experience.Experience with US mortgage underwriting or loan processing.Familiarity with UK legislation related to mortgage lending.Experience in training and supporting team members.Additional Requirements:Strong interpretation and articulation skills.Excellent keyboard and typing skills (minimum 45 words per minute).100% shift adherence with flexibility to work in shifts.This role is a critical part of the mortgage processing team, ensuring accurate validation, compliance, and seamless progression of mortgage applications.
