Job Description and ResponsibilitiesORGANIZATIONAL STRUCUTRE BUSINESS: CIRCOR – IndustrialLOCATION: Coimbatore, IndiaDIRECT REPORTING: Director - OperationsFUNCTIONAL REPORTING: NA Position Summary The Continuous Improvement person is responsible for the planning and execution of site improvement projects (Lean & Six-Sigma) to fulfill the strategic objectives of the business.This leader will support the site by leading the Business Unit’s continuous improvement through the planning and implementation of Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.Partners with site & group leadership to lead the transformation to a culture of operational excellence, environmental, health, & safety, and continuous improvement. Delivers practical, hands-on training to associates on Lean manufacturing tools to eliminate waste in all administrative, manufacturing and support functions.Measures and reports progress for group level activities on an on-going basis. Principal Activities Plans, manages, and directs the overall continuous improvement program and activities of the company.Lead the CIRCOR Operating System (COS) implementation at site and achieve the Highest level of ExcellenceDevelop Problem solving culture across the organizationCreate Hoshin Kanri strategic planning tool for the company wide objectivesCoordinates the deployment of Lean and Six Sigma methods for value creation and waste eliminationAnalyze the gaps in achieving the goals and coach the team members in bridging the shortfallAdvises, coaches, mentors cross-functional teams and other personnel in the fundamental value creation and waste removal toolsProvide for team and individual training in support of continuous improvement objectives and the execution of chartered projects.Manage budget, cost, schedule and rate of return for continuous improvement activities within the division.Communicate clearly (written and oral) with customers, people and partners.Participates in preparation of Business case proposals as required.Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization.RequirementsCANDIDATE REQUIREMENTSKnowledge Skills & AbilitiesStrong leadership ability and presence while working in a team matrix organizationPositive and upbeat personality focused on driving forward even in the face of challengesHigh ethical standards. Includes training and instructionExpert knowledge of Excel, and strong knowledge of Word, Power Point, Project, and other applicable toolsEH&S experience, preferably at a factory business, with knowledge of regulatory requirements.Experience in conducting audits and implementation of EH&S managements systemsEducation & ExperienceGraduate degree in Engineering / Technology preferably Mechanical. Lean / Six Sigma Black-belt preferred with demonstrated project success15+ years of progressive materials, manufacturing and operations team leadership experience. Must have successfully led multiple Kaizen events within a manufacturing environment.
