Designation: Senior Manager - Perishable Procurement (Food)Location: MumbaiExperience: 12+ yearsBudget: 20L - 25LIndustry: Food/QSR IndustryJob Overview:We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Perishable Procurement Manager to oversee the procurement and supply chain management of perishable products, including poultry, dairy, frozen foods, and fresh fruits & vegetables (F&Vs) for our food business operations.Key Responsibilities:Procurement of Perishables: Oversee and manage the procurement of perishable products such as poultry, dairy, F&Vs, and frozen foods across the group’s businesses.Supply Chain Support: Collaborate with regions to ensure effective supply chain operations, assisting in resolving procurement challenges and improving operational performance.Strategic Planning & Cost Savings: Develop and implement strategies that align with company expectations, focusing on cost savings and procurement optimization.Competitive Bidding & RFQs: Create RFQs and manage competitive bidding processes to ensure the best deals for the business.Budget Management: Handle procurement budgets, payment processes, and procurement strategies, ensuring cost control and adherence to financial goals.Procurement Strategy & Policy Development: Design and implement cost-effective procurement strategies and policies for the purchasing of raw materials, goods, and services.Procure-to-Pay Process: Manage and coordinate the end-to-end procure-to-pay process, including requisitioning, purchasing, receiving, invoicing, and payment.Supplier Evaluation & Sourcing: Evaluate and strategically source potential suppliers, negotiating favorable contracts to ensure competitive pricing and optimal terms.Vendor Management: Foster positive supplier relationships, resolving disputes when necessary, and ensuring optimal performance from all suppliers.Performance Monitoring: Track and monitor supplier performance and procurement activities to ensure optimal business operations.Demand Forecasting: Use data and insights to forecast future demand for goods and services, ensuring timely procurement and effective planning.Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments to ensure that all procurement needs are met and that business operations run smoothly.Purchase Order Management: Finalize purchase details, approve purchase requests, and issue purchase orders in a timely manner.Cost Tracking & KPI Monitoring: Track key metrics and KPIs to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve procurement efficiency.Procurement Data Analysis: Conduct spend analysis, generate reports, and utilize procurement data to drive decision-making and performance improvements.Compliance: Ensure that all procurement activities comply with relevant regulations, industry standards, and laws.Technology Integration: Incorporate new procurement software, e-procurement processes, and business tools to streamline procurement activities and improve efficiency.Risk Mitigation: Develop and implement strategies to mitigate procurement risks, ensuring continuity of supply and business operations.Market Monitoring: Stay updated on industry trends and developments to inform procurement strategies and maintain a competitive edge.Qualifications:Education: BSc degree in Procurement & Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.Experience: Minimum of 12 years of proven experience in procurement management, particularly in the food industry with a focus on perishables.Skills:Strong negotiation skills and expertise in contract management.Aptitude for data analysis and decision-making.Proficiency in MS Office and ERP software (SAP, Oracle, etc.).Strong leadership abilities with a track record of managing teams and driving results.Excellent communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.Knowledge:In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and supply chain logistics, particularly in the context of perishable goods.Familiarity with industry regulations and best practices related to food safety and procurement.
