Job Description

This role reporting to Senior Manager - HSE & SMS is to direct and coordinates planning, and implementation of occupational health, safety and environmental (HSE) programs to assure that management takes the actions needed to ensure HSE risks and hazards are managed effectively and to raise employee’s awareness regarding HSE matters.Responsible for the implementation and management of an independent Health Safety Environment System (HSE) in GAT.Manage GAT safety reporting to the local/international regulatory entities (DGCA, Department of Transport, ICAO, EASA, and all relevant foreign CAA authorities. Responsible for the effective management of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) in line with national regulations. Responsible for the development and implementation of the Emergency Response Plan.Advises management on government IOSH / NEBOSH regulations relating to HSE and recommends necessary action to attain compliance. Prepare and update GAT HSE document and communicate to all employees.Monitor existing and Identify potential safety and environmental concerns and Hazards and recommends resolutions or actions to resolve.Identifies common safety/health hazards inherent in the organizations operations and establishes guidelines for protection from those hazards.Plan and Conduct safety inspection and suggest corrective action in case of noncompliance.Design and deliver HSE training programs to provide safety awareness to all employees.Ensure the completion and regular review of HSE risk assessments for all work areas, and operations.Liaise with external safety training agency in the provision of HSE training programs, health and safety services.Investigate HSE accidents/incidents/hazards and recommend the corrective and preventive action. Contribute to SAG meeting on regular intervals and formulate & distribute minutes for the meetings. Follow up to complete all agreed action points.Participate in SAG and SRB meeting and provide inputs. Update the minutes of meeting.Review the selection process for facility contractor and review the contractor documents Conduct the contractor employee’s safety training on site.Conduct the contractor inspection and audit and prepare the audit report and submit to the relevant department. Submit the HSE accident/incident/hazards report to any relevant authority when require.Maintain relationships with regulatory and government agency personnel.QualificationB.Sc / B.Tech/ B.E. with PG Diploma/ Diploma in HSE or equivalent.(CLI/RLI authorized courses are essential).Knowledge & ExperienceMinimum 10 Years’ experience in HSENEBOSH/ IOSH qualifications desirable or ability to gain such.Qualification and experience in environmental management is desirableQualification and experience in food safety standard is desirable Auditor qualifications and experience (ISO) is an advantage including Quality Auditor, Quality Engineer, Quality Improvement Associate,Experience with implementation of corrective action programsAviation Experience is an advantage.Knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of HSESolid experience in effective usage of data analysis tools and statistical analysisKnowledge of relevant regulatory requirements Communication skills - verbal and writtenData collection, management and analysis
