Job Description:· Oversee and manage inventory accounting processes for retail operations, ensuring all inventory transactions are accurately recorded.· Perform regular inventory reconciliations, including monthly, quarterly, and annual stock counts and adjustments.· Collaborate with retail operations and supply chain teams to ensure accurate inventory tracking and valuation across multiple store locations and warehouses. Analyze and maintain accurate costing models for merchandise, ensuring proper application of retail and standard costing methods.· Review inventory-related journal entries and ensure compliance with accounting policies Calculate and report the cost of goods sold (COGS) for each period, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting.· Track and report on slow-moving, obsolete, or excess inventory to identify opportunities for improved inventory management and cost control. Assist in the preparation of month-end, quarterly, and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.· Support the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts for inventory costs, sales, and COGS.
