About the vacancy… We are seeking an experienced and visionary Manager Design & Engineering to lead our design team in delivering innovative and efficient solutions for our advanced cold storage facilities. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in design management, particularly within the logistics or industrial sectors. Key Responsibilities: • Managing the development, implementation, and evaluation of complex designs. Managing progress and identifying and manage risks. • Overseeing product construction and testing to ensure completion of projects as efficiently and effectively as possible. • Evaluating and improving the changes that substantially impact the scope, budget, or schedule of a project. • Developing new engineering concepts for the benefit of our warehouses (a.o. Energy Management)' • Providing input regarding project outcomes and resolving escalated issues arising from operations in coordination with other departments. • Providing strategic directions to ensure successful project outcomes and completion. • Giving engineering Life-cycle support to realized warehouses and providing support to Business development initiatives. • Providing support to Operational initiatives while safeguarding NewCold’s Design and Engineering standards. • Providing support to Sustainability initiatives and integrating them within NewCold’s standard design. • Prepare the tender packages for the general contractor and other specialist contractors. • Support with the permitting process and strategy. • Liaising with local engineers for input on design. Who are we looking for? For this position we are looking for an experienced leader with an entrepreneurial and innovative mindset. You have a degree in Degree in Building & Construction engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent at Bachelor/Master level. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 7 years of experience in design & engineering, preferably in logistics, industrial, construction or related sectors. Furthermore, the preferred candidate: • Proven track record of leading design teams and managing large-scale projects. • Strong understanding of design principles, construction methods, and industry regulations. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments. • Proficiency in design software and tools relevant to the industry.
