Job Purpose (Summary / One – Line Description)Lead the Instrumentation CoE for SCIL and ensure smooth operations including equipment uptime and readiness in a cost-effective manner.Duties/Responsibilities/Activities: Strategy & PlanningDefine Instrumentation CoE goals and plans aligned with overall engineering objectives and cascade goals to the teamFormulate Instrumentation CoE budget and review it with the Engineering & Projects HeadParticipate in the planning exercise and provide inputs for strategic initiatives and critical projects including new technology / tech up-gradation from instrumentation perspectiveMaintenance & DebottleneckingDevise preventive and breakdown maintenance scheduling norms for all domains as applicable and ensure compliance across manufacturing locationsMonitor Annual Maintenance Contracts for various equipment on a periodic basis and ensure renewal of the same in a timely mannerLead RCA for chronic instrumentation issues and devise clear action plans to resolve issues and minimize breakdownsEnsure adherence to turn-around-time in resolution of equipment faults/breakdownsEngineering StoresDefine inventory norms and collaborate with Indirect Purchase Manager to ensure optimal stocking levels maintained for seamless instrumentation operationsCapital ExpensesSupport engineering projects by providing expertise in instrumentation, including new line setups, capacity expansions, and ETP plant installations, ensuring proper design, purchase, and installation of equipment.Identify instrumentation requirements for projects, collaborate on investment proposals, and develop new vendors for cost-effective and indigenous solutions.Risk Management & Continuous ImprovementReview equipment performance reports on a periodic basis and undertake proactive measures (repairs, replacement, maintenance) to minimize breakdownUndertake measures to reduce loss in production due to instrumentation related breakdownsCollaborate with Business Excellence team to drive process improvements and reduce maintenance costsEnsure compliance to all ISO requirementsPeople ManagementEnsure effective manning, capability development & engagement of employees so that function objectives are metMonitor the performance of the team on a continuous basis to identify key performersArrange for internal and external training for the team including identification of their training needsWorkplace SafetyEnsure compliance with safety regulations, participate in training, and report safety concerns promptly. IMS ComplianceAdhere to IMS standards, maintain documentation, and support audits and corrective actions.
