This individual will be responsible for the design and development of AI/ML predictive models that augment our decision support systems using customers' historical data sets. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our AI-driven solutions provide actionable insights and value to our clients.Job Responsibilities of this positionDesign and develop AI/ML predictive models that enhance the decision-making process for our clients, leveraging their own historical data sets.Work closely with customers to understand their data, business needs, and objectives, ensuring that the models developed are tailored to provide maximum value.Implement, test, and validate machine learning algorithms to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and scalability of the models.Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other data scientists to integrate the models into Xemplar’s broader product ecosystem.Analyze and interpret complex data sets, delivering insights that inform business decisions and improve predictive model accuracy.Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI/ML and bring fresh ideas to continuously improve the modeling process.Provide thought leadership and mentorship to the overall team and assist in the development of best practices.Close closely with teams comprising business analysts, frontend, mid-tier, and backend developers in developing production applications that utilize the developed models.Conceptualize problems, apply appropriate theory, explore approaches, simulate, and implement them with minimal supervision.Define data needs, evaluate data quality, and extract/transform data for analytic projects and research.Required Relevant Experience: Proven experience in developing and deploying AI/ML predictive models in a production environment.Strong knowledge of machine learning techniques such as regression, classification, clustering, time series analysis, and deep learning.Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or similar, and experience with machine learning libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, scikit-learn, PyTorch).Experience with data wrangling, feature engineering, and working with large and complex datasets.Strong experience in model validation and testing to ensure robustness and reliability.Knowledge of the P&C Insurance domain is preferred, especially in areas like claims prediction, risk modeling, pricing optimization, and customer segmentation.Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.Must have hands on experience working with large volumes of structured and unstructured data.Must have 5+ years’ experience in developing predictive models, data mining, statistical model development, big data use, and high-performance computing.Other ExperienceExperience working for customers located in the US.Proficiency in using Jira software, MS-Office products, etc.Ability to work independently and quickly adapt to changing priorities and external constraints.Strong interpersonal and proactive problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Experience in leadership through influence (e.g., without formal authority)Candidates with strong referrals will be preferred.Educational Qualifications: A degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field (advanced degree is a plus).Job Location: HyderabadYears of experience: 8+ yearsMode of Work: Work from Office (all 5 days a week)
