Job Description

Designation: Senior Network Engineer Department: Information Technology Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent Work Timing: 8am – 5pm Eastern TimeKey Responsibilities:Network Design & Implementation: • Design, deploy, and optimize complex network infrastructure for enterprise environments, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and cloud networks. • Develop and implement network solutions, ensuring scalability, redundancy, and high availability. • Configure and manage network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and access points. • Work with cross-functional teams to define requirements and ensure network solutions align with business needs. • Conduct network assessments and capacity planning to ensure optimal performance and future scalability.Network Security: • Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and network segmentation. • Conduct vulnerability assessments and remediation, ensuring network infrastructure is protected from internal and external threats. • Perform regular security audits and ensure compliance with industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements.Troubleshooting & Support: • Provide advanced technical support for network-related issues, identifying and resolving network performance problems quickly and effectively. • Lead root cause analysis for network outages or slowdowns and ensure timely resolution of issues. • Monitor network performance and provide ongoing support to ensure uninterrupted service.Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: • Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and other technical teams to define, design, and implement network enhancements and upgrades. • Serve as a subject matter expert, offering guidance on network best practices and system improvements. • Work closely with vendors and service providers to evaluate and integrate new network technologies and services. • Participate in network design and architecture discussions and provide technical recommendations for complex projects.Network Optimization & Automation: • Continuously assess and optimize network performance, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimal latency. • Develop and implement automation solutions for network provisioning, configuration management, and monitoring. • Leverage network management tools and software to monitor performance and diagnose issues proactively.Leadership & Mentoring: • Mentor and guide junior network engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment. • Conduct training sessions and knowledge sharing initiatives to enhance the team’s skills and capabilities. • Lead and facilitate technical reviews to ensure adherence to best practices, security protocols, and design standards.Program & Project Management Support: • Assist in the planning and execution of network projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. • Collaborate with project managers to estimate effort, track progress, and manage resources. • Contribute to the development of project documentation, including network designs, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.Requirements:• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent certification. • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent (Good to have). • 5+ years of hands-on experience in network design, implementation, and support. • Strong proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, etc.), and network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.). • Proven experience with network security, including firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS systems. • Experience with network automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ansible). • Solid understanding of cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid network environments. • Familiarity with SD-WAN, network monitoring tools, and network performance optimization. • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, ensuring timely delivery of complex network solutions.
