Job Title: Assistant Manager/Deputy Manager/Manager - Project Development Department: Project Development - Wind Location: Gurugram, Haryana, India Reporting To: Head of Department - Project Development About the Organization: Juniper Green Energy is an independent renewable energy power producer and operator of solar , wind and hybrid power projects with significant experience in conceptualizing, building, and developing renewable energy assets. The company is part of the AT Group which has an asset portfolio worth of approximately US$2.5 billion with global investments in renewable energy, residential & commercial real estate, hospitality etc. The Group has been building utility scale renewable energy projects in India since 2010 and built and owned Orange Renewable, a 1GW renewable energy platform in the past. Juniper Green Energy, based out of Delhi NCR, commenced operations in October 2018. The business has experienced rapid growth, and it presently has an operational portfolio of about 1GW with an under-construction capacity of 1.5 GW and a development pipeline of close to 5.5 GW of solar, wind and hybrid projects. The company has end-to-end internal competencies in EPC and O&M services for its renewable projects. About the position As the Project Development specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the land acquisition activities for Wind projects. Reporting directly to the Head of Project Development, you will play a crucial role in creating a land pool for under construction wind projects and to create a pipeline for the organization. Key Accountabilities: Provide support for project development activities and collaborate with different departments for land acquisition and related tasks for wind projects. Identify suitable developers/aggregators for wind energy projects, with primary focussed Sates. Ensure adherence to statutes and regulations related to land, forest, and other related approvals. Assess risks in land acquisition and recommend mitigation plans. Lead legal due diligence (DD) and documentation with internal/external lawyers and ensure clear and marketable title of the potential land before acquisition. Participate in drafting, finalization getting execution of Sale/Lease Deeds and such other agreements. Collaborate with cross functional teams, including procurement, engineering, project management, legal, and finance, to ensure seamless land acquisition for wind energy projects. Facilitate effective communication and coordination to meet project timelines and objectives. Handle interactions with local agencies and stakeholders to facilitate smooth acquisition and usage of lands for wind energy projects until commissioning. Manage administrative tasks related to land acquisition and usage across the company's pan-India locations. Develop project plans and schedules, coordinating with various stakeholders for successful project implementation. Obtaining various approvals for land acquisition like AAI (Airport Authority of India) NOC, Ministry of Defence (MoD) NOC and other relevant approvals. Our Ideal Candidate Significant experience in land acquisition involving Revenue/Private/Forest Land exploring potential site acquisitions, preparing valuation reports for acquisition, and negotiating to acquire land. 4-15 Years of hands-on experience in Land procurement/acquisition for Wind and/or solar projects. Excellent communication skills for effective communication with team members, cross functional teams, and other stakeholders. Strong understanding of government policies, permits, and regulatory requirements related to renewable energy projects and land acquisition. Thorough knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to forests and land. Familiarity with land acquisition processes, including procurement, leasing, easement, etc., for renewable power projects. Ability to conduct preliminary due diligence checks on lands and assess land risks. Proficiency in identifying suitable developers/aggregators for renewable energy projects. Proven ability to secure lands within targeted timelines. Strong organizational and project management skills to execute land procurement targets, plans, and project development activities. Proactive and self-motivated with a results-oriented approach. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to address challenges in land acquisition and project development.
