Job Description Position: Senior Manager / Manager Supply Chain Management Position Reports to: SVP – Chief Supply Officer Department: Supply Chain Location: Jigani, Bangalore, Karnataka Language Known: English, Hindi, Kannada Experience: Total Experience of 15+ Years’ in manufacturing sector with minimum 5 years’ experience as independent SCM head in a manufacturing unit. MNC exposure advantage, Consumable Products background – particularly FMCG/ Pharma background will be preferable. Education: Bachelor’s Degree – Technical degree will be preferable Key Responsibilities Evaluate Production requirements, develop schedules for production, ensure monthly commitments are met timely, Monitor WIP/Packaging Material to meet budget levels, ensure materials are available for production when required, communicate effectively with all regions of their order status. Control and monitor all planning activities to meet company targets and customer requirements. Evaluate Purchase requirements of Packaging materials, lubricants, flavors, pigments and raw materials as per orders to ensure monthly commitments are met on time. Develop new specifications/modifications for SKU’s and develop new packaging materials schedule as per marketing requirements for production. Monitor WIP/Packaging Material to meet budget levels, ensure materials are available for production when required to meet monthly commitments. Carry out all Import and Export activities and ensure that the statutory requirements of 100% EOU are met. Leadership and Direction: Develop and maintain an organization structure whereby the logistics operations are adequately stuffed with key personnel who are trained, developed, motivated, competent and properly rewarded with the opportunity and direction to achieve their maximum potential. Ensure that subordinate staff know and understand their duties and responsibilities and are provided with the necessary means and training in order to meet their position objectives. Lead, direct and delegate authority and responsibility as necessary for them to achieve this. Strategic Planning: Determine short-, medium- and long-term objectives, budget and capital expenditure proposals for logistics operations and recommend these to the Plant Manager. Develop and implement logistics plans to achieve these objectives when authorized and to meet customer requirements on an on-going basis. Sourcing: Carry out an in-depth study of all possible suppliers of Latex, Raw Materials, Engineering supplies and all other requirements of the plant in order to obtain all requirements at the optimum cost. Negotiate trading terms in order to meet the “61 days” credit period targeted by P.D.L and work in close co-operation with the strategic sourcing teams. Review Supplier performance on a periodical basis and make necessary. Production Planning: Establish production schedules for both manufacturing and packing based on capacity. Orders placed and provided forward estimates of machine loading and work schedules. Track order status and communicate with marketing regions of the status of their orders without any delay. The accepted norm for such communication is to send a reply on the same day and if unable, send an interim reply and then follow up. Arrange adequate space requirements and ensure good manufacturing practices for the safe storage of all Raw Materials, Packing materials, Bulk liquids, flammable materials and finished products. Review the adequacy of records and documentation to determine the conformity with laid down requirements and ensure the accuracy of such records through periodical inventory reviews. Analyze slow moving or surplus materials periodically and recommend appropriate action. Warehousing: Arrange adequate space requirements and ensure the good manufacturing practices for the safe storage of all Raw Materials, packing materials, Bulk liquids, flammable materials and finished products. Review the adequacy of records and documentation to determine the conformity with laid down requirements and ensure the accuracy of such records through periodical inventory reviews. Analyze slow moving or surplus materials periodically and recommend appropriate action. Engineering Stores: Ensure effective management of the engineering stores in keeping with the budgetary requirements but yet ensuring that the requirements of the plant are met. Arrange adequate spare requirements and ensure the Good Manufacturing Practice for the safe storage of bulk liquids (diesel and furnace oil), Engineering sparesand tools Including re-cycle material and spares such as motors, pumps etc . Review the adequacy of records and documentation to determine their conformity with laid down requirements and ensure the accuracy of such records through periodical inventory reviews. Analyze Slow moving or surplus materials periodically and recommend appropriate action. Purchasing: Responsible for all the commercial activities and documentation and authorized for signing purchasing documents including POs. Inventory Management: Ensure that the requirements related to latex, raw and process materials, packing and finished materials and finished goods are maintained as per the budget. Shipping Freight and Clearing: Ensure shipping, freight, clearing and forwarding are carried out in cost effective and timely manner to provide the most efficient movement of inwards and outward cargo and the timely dispatch of relevant documents to the customers. Customer Service: Ensure effective communication with the regions, Marketing team and other Customers to ensure the orders are shipped as needed and customer service targets are met as per target. Risk Management: Ensure all logistics personnel and assets are adequately safeguarded and only safe working practices and conditions are allowed and provided. Ensure that steps and taken to minimize or to eliminate the risk of injury to employees. Ensure the high standards of Housekeeping and 5s are maintained and the storage facilities are adequate for their purpose, well maintained and properly protected. Spending Control: Ensure the spending control in the area under preview and the compliance to budget. S3 Contribution: Financial benefit to the company by achieving S3 as per budget. Identification of projects for the process improvement, cost effectiveness & for betterment of quality. Interface: Interface with Excise & Customs officials, other government authorities like Development commissioner, rubber board, FKCCI, DGFT etc. Maintain close contact with internal and external parties for the betterment of business. Exposure to QSR and ISO Standards. Ability to achieve respective Supply Chain function KPIs as per the targets.
