About the Role: Managing Product costing while working closely with GIS PD, Raw Material, Wash Tech, Brand, Costing Excellence, counterparts and with vendor merchandising teams. . As part of product costing team s/he will also be providing support in identifying opportunities of cost saving through product reengineering, cost standardization, helping build up costing library & support any cost related initiatives for the company. ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP : Maintains relationships and drive towards fact-based negotiation with new and current vendors Works with costing capability development team, GIS PD, Brand Teams, Mill management team, Trims & Packaging team, Wash Tech to leverage there expertise to optimize the product cost Supports cross functional teams in problem solving, information sharing and counter sourcing to support best placement plan What You’ll Do: Awareness of Brand calendars for costing Plan the costing season & deliverables for key costing milestones Coordinate with Product Dev team on new seasonal costing, allocations and strategies. Coordinate with Raw Material Team on Fabric/ trim costs Review current season line, identify reference styles for comparable costing. Ability to work on system based costing tools. Co-ordinate with cross functional (CFT) stakeholders including vendors to ensure all required materials are available within the aligned timeline cadence. Make timely call-outs on outstandings and highlight potential delays to CFT. Resolves issues within a timely manner while working to continuously improve and create internal and external processes and procedures Review Targets and create a path to meeting the target using product re-enginnering while maintaining aesthetics. Review vendor costings and validate components using standar benchmarks or reference programs Ability to create Markers independently to validate garment consumptions Conceptual understanding of working based off SMV Data to finalize garment costing Communicate with Brand counterparts and convince them on cost viability and sustainability. Update consolidate costing status report for the milestone Work on counter costings as needed, analyze and make appropriate call outs Leverage Cost excellence teams as needed to hit required targets. Follow up and support on Sourcing initiatives and strategies Work closely within all stakeholders nurturing a One team approach at Gap Inc Who You Are: Effective Communicator & Team Player – proven capability to communicate effectively, verbal and written to all cross functional team members Merchandise Sourcing Knowledge – Experience in product costing with offshore production exposure; in large-sized buying office or trading company Product Knowledge – Should know yield management, ability to create markers, knowledge about product construction & knows SMV based costing.
