Join us at Zoid Technologies and shape the future of Indian Defence & Aerospace. Job Brief We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical R&D in our team. In this role, you will research, design, test, and deploy various mechanical and electromechanical systems. You will be responsible for tackling novel problems and implementing innovative ideas. You will work in collaboration with a team of Software, and Electronics engineers to build mission critical solutions. This is a senior level role, and you will get to enjoy complete ownership and autonomy of your work.   Roles and Responsibilities  1. Full Lifecycle Development: Lead mechanical and electro-mechanical solutions: Research, Prototyping, Testing, Manufacturing, and Deployment. 2. Research & Innovation: Conduct theoretical research and literature review for prospective projects quickly and pass on that knowledge to others in your team. 3. Modelling & Designing Create detailed 3D models, and drawings using your CAD software of choice. Selection of mechanical components from various OEMs by analysing technical datasheets. Design waterproof enclosures for rugged electronic systems, while ensuring effective thermal management of electronics. 4. Design for Manufacturing (DFM): Develop designs that are practical and feasible for production & assembly within the financial and technical constraints of the project. 5. Production: Find suitable vendors for production and co-ordinate with them to manufacture the prototypes. 6. Field Testing: Outline industry-standard test procedures to assess performance and conduct hands on testing in operational environment / military bases. 7. Problem Solving: Identify potential problems and troubleshoot issues to increase performance and reliability. 8. Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation throughout the project lifecycle, including design specifications, BOM and test reports. Qualifications   1. Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. 2. Experience: Proven experience of at least 3 years or more as a mechanical engineer preferably in a research oriented tech environment.  3. Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills.  4. Technical Skills Demonstrated experience of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and Stack-up tolerance (6 sigma) Proficiency in CAD software for 3D modelling, analysis & simulations. Knowledge of various raw materials, surface treatment processes and mechanical sub-components. Proficiency with power tools for tweaking and modifying prototypes. 5. Field Experience: Willingness to travel to various military bases / offshore locations in India and conducting testing in operational environments for extended periods. Preferred Qualifications   1. Prior experience with working on complex mechanical solutions in the Defence & Aerospace industry.  2. Knowledge of Industrial standards and Defence & Aerospace certifications.  3. A strong network of local vendors and manufacturing service providers in the Delhi-NCR region  4.
