Position Title: Splunk Engineer Location: Chennai , HYD , Bangalore Exp:10+ years Role Purpose & Environment The Splunk Engineer is responsible for providing technical advice, assistance, and ongoing optimization strategies for Technical Service Operations monitoring tools. The role ensures that the Technical Service Operations teams utilize the Splunk platform to its full potential by promoting tool adoption, best practices, managing data, optimizing performance, and implementing new capabilities and use cases. A key outcome is to reduce manual effort in day-to-day tasks and improve the observability of systems and services. Required Skills & Experience Service Management: ITIL v.4 Programming Languages: Python or equivalent Database Languages: SQL and PostgreSQL DevOps Practices: GIT/SVN Operating Systems: Unix, Windows, and Linux Protocols: SNMP Service Assurance Tools: Splunk Core and Splunk ITSI Orchestration Platforms: Splunk SOAR, Apache Nifi, or Ansible Telco/Carrier Network Experience Project Management Tools: Jira & Confluence In addition to technical knowledge, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work well with others are critical. Due to the dynamic nature of the business your responsibilities may change over time as the business evolves. Design, document, and implement service trees in Splunk ITSI. Perform work during Australian Business hours Develop and maintain correlation searches, aggregation policies, KPI base searches, entity types, glass tables, and dashboards. Onboard new data sources in Splunk Core as needed, including data management. Monitor Splunk platform performance and optimize searches, dashboards, and reports. Develop and maintain apps and technical add-ons in Python to integrate new data sources with the Splunk platform. Collaborate with other business units and support teams to ensure solutions are fit for purpose and deliver expected efficiencies. Identify opportunities for system and service monitoring improvements, build a backlog of initiatives, and maintain a delivery pipeline of new features and use cases for Technology Service Operations teams.
