We deliver these products in response to e-commerce consumer orders on , as well as through off-platform sales on Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Blinkit, general trade (GT), modern trade (MT), exclusive brand outlets (EBO), and Purplle stores Position Overview: Purplle started out as a retailing business and is now in the 12th year of operations. While we continue to build a robust and engaging platform for shopping beauty, 6 years ago we also started creating products and brands of our own. What started as a small experiment via 2 brands (PB - Private Brands) has spawned into a portfolio of 10 fast growing brands with 1000s of SKUs contributing to a significant part of Purplle’s revenues today. As we race ahead on this path to building exciting, digital first, D2C brands supported by the solid distribution of ; We are currently looking to strengthen the PB sourcing pillar in our supply chain process We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Manager – Packaging Procurement to lead the sourcing, negotiation, and management of packaging materials for our beauty and personal care products. This role is critical to ensuring the procurement of high-quality, cost-effective, and sustainable packaging solutions that align with brand requirements and operational goals. The ideal candidate will be adept at supplier discovery, evaluation, and relationship management, with a focus on optimizing costs and ensuring product quality. Key Responsibilities: Supplier Discovery and Evaluation Research and identify potential domestic and international suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors for packaging materials. Conduct comprehensive evaluations of suppliers, focusing on product quality, pricing, lead times, reliability, and sustainability practices. Product Sourcing and Negotiation Source packaging materials that meet product specifications, quality standards, and cost objectives. Negotiate favorable terms with suppliers, including pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost savings and operational efficiency. Quality Control Develop and implement quality control measures to ensure sourced packaging materials meet or exceed the company’s standards. Collaborate with Quality Assurance teams to resolve any quality-related issues promptly. Supplier Relationship Management Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent supply and foster partnerships for future needs. Monitor supplier performance and implement improvement plans as necessary. Market Research and Cost Analysis Stay updated on industry trends, emerging packaging innovations, and market developments to identify new opportunities. Conduct cost analysis to identify potential savings and recommend strategies for optimizing product pricing. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Cost Savings: Percentage of cost reduction achieved through supplier negotiations and sourcing strategies. On-Time Delivery: Consistency in meeting delivery schedules for packaging materials. Supplier Performance: Metrics related to quality, lead times, and reliability. Quality Standards: Percentage of packaging materials meeting or exceeding company quality benchmarks. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field. Experience: 4-10 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, specifically in packaging materials for beauty and personal care products. Proven experience in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships is highly desirable. Familiarity with sustainable packaging practices is an advantage.
