Job Title: Solar Design Engineer Job Location: Jaipur, Rajasthan Job Type: Full-Time Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Solar Design Engineer to join our team. This role will involve the design and engineering of Solar Photovoltaic (PV) systems for both rooftop and ground-mounted projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in using design software, conducting site visits, supporting project commissioning, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities: Design Solar PV Systems: Responsible for designing rooftop and ground-mounted Solar PV systems using software such as Helioscope, SketchUp, AutoCAD, and other related tools. Electrical Equipment & Selection: Selection of electrical equipment including inverters, batteries, and other supporting equipment, as well as designing conduit layouts and schematic diagrams. Sizing and Calculation: Perform technical sizing and calculations for PV systems, including determining Bill of Materials (BOM) and providing accurate project cost estimations. Preparation of Design Documents: Prepare and check design documents, layouts, Single Line Diagrams (SLD), and detailed drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications. Site Visits & Commissioning Support: Conduct site visits to assess project conditions, provide technical support to the site team, and assist in the commissioning of projects. Electrical System Design: Provide expertise in electrical system design, including load flow, short circuit calculations, and protection schemes for both LV and HV systems. Structure Design: Design and assess structural elements for solar installations, ensuring that all systems meet safety and regulatory standards. Project Management: Assist in project management tasks, including coordination with various teams and managing project timelines. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with local and international electrical codes and safety standards. Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project execution, from design to commissioning. Qualifications: Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree (B.E. / B.Tech) in Electrical, Power, or Energy Engineering. Experience: 3-5 years of total working experience in solar projects, with at least 3-5 years of experience in PV design engineering (especially rooftop solar structure designing). Software Skills: Proficient in using design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Electrical CAD, and other PV design tools like Helioscope. Technical Skills: Strong understanding of electrical system design, including substation layouts, protection schemes, and relay settings for both LV and HV systems. Structural Design Knowledge: Must be proficient in structural design related to solar PV systems. Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with teams and clients. Project Management Skills: Experience in managing and supervising solar projects, ensuring timely and successful delivery. Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of electrical codes and industry standards, ensuring compliance in all designs and implementations. Preferred Skills: Knowledge of renewable energy regulations and incentives. Experience with energy storage systems (ESS) and hybrid solar designs. Certification in Solar PV design (e.g., NABCEP).
