Job Summary: The Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring that all HR policies, processes, and activities comply with labor laws, industry regulations, and internal company policies. This role involves monitoring statutory compliance, handling audits, managing employee grievances related to compliance, and collaborating with internal teams to maintain a legally sound HR function. The role also includes ensuring compliance with NATS (National Apprenticeship Training Scheme) and NAPS (National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme), overseeing the apprenticeship programs, and ensuring government-mandated processes are followed. Key Responsibilities: 1. Statutory & Legal Compliance Ensure compliance with labor laws, including PF, ESI, Gratuity, Bonus Act, Payment of Wages Act, Shops and Establishment Act, Factories Act , etc. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of amendments in labor laws and advise management accordingly. Oversee timely payment and filing of statutory returns such as PF, ESI, TDS, Professional Tax, and other applicable compliances. Liaise with government authorities like EPFO, ESIC, and the Labor Department for inspections and audits. Prepare and maintain necessary registers, licenses, and compliance records as required by law. 2. HR Policies & Internal Compliance Develop and update HR policies in accordance with legal requirements and industry best practices. Ensure strict adherence to company policies, including Code of Conduct, POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Policy, Data Protection, and Workplace Safety. Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Provide training and awareness programs to employees on compliance-related topics. 3. NATS & NAPS Compliance (Apprenticeship Compliance) Ensure Aurolab’s registration and compliance under NATS (for graduate/diploma apprentices) and NAPS (for ITI apprentices) as per government regulations. Manage contract execution, documentation, and reporting related to apprentices. Coordinate with BOAT (Board of Apprenticeship Training) for NATS and RDAT (Regional Directorate of Apprenticeship Training) for NAPS. Ensure timely stipend processing and reimbursement claims under NAPS guidelines. Monitor adherence to minimum engagement requirements and provide necessary reports to authorities. 4. Audit & Documentation Manage internal and external audits related to labor law compliance, HR policies, and apprenticeship programs. Maintain records and documentation related to employment contracts, statutory benefits, and employee welfare schemes. Address compliance-related queries from employees, auditors, and regulatory bodies. 5. Employee Grievance & Investigation Handle employee grievances related to workplace compliance, discrimination, harassment, and ethical concerns. Conduct investigations on non-compliance cases and recommend corrective actions. Act as a liaison between employees and regulatory bodies to resolve disputes. 6. Vendor Compliance Management Ensure compliance of labor contractors and third-party vendors with statutory labor laws. Conduct periodic audits of contractors to verify adherence to wage, PF, ESI, and other legal requirements. Required Qualifications & Experience: Education: MBA/MSW in HR, LL.B (preferred). Experience: 7+ years of experience in HR compliance, statutory compliance, or legal HR functions. Industry: Preferably from manufacturing, healthcare, or pharma sectors. Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of Indian labor laws and statutory requirements. Experience in handling PF, ESI, TDS, POSH, and Factory Act compliance. Expertise in NATS & NAPS compliance and government apprenticeship programs. Ability to liaise with government authorities and legal advisors. Excellent documentation and audit management skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Experience in handling labor disputes and grievance redressal. Proficiency in HRMS tools for compliance tracking.
