Job Overview: Siddham PolyIndia is seeking an experienced and results-driven Purchasing Manager to oversee the procurement of recycled polymers, including rPET, rPP, and rHDPE. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in sourcing high-quality materials, negotiating with suppliers, and managing inventory to ensure timely and cost-effective production. This role requires a strong understanding of the recycled polymer industry, vendor management, and supply chain operations. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Sourcing: Develop and execute sourcing strategies to procure recycled polymers (rPET, rPP, rHDPE) and related materials, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and build relationships with suppliers in the recycled material and polymer industry. Negotiate terms, prices, and delivery schedules. Inventory Control: Work closely with the warehouse team to ensure stock levels of recycled polymers and materials are maintained efficiently, minimizing disruptions in the production process. Cost Management: Monitor purchasing costs and actively seek opportunities for cost reduction through supplier negotiations, bulk purchasing, or alternate sourcing. Vendor Compliance: Ensure that suppliers comply with all company standards, including product specifications, quality standards, and sustainability practices. Procurement Documentation: Oversee the creation and approval of purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in terms of pricing, delivery schedules, and specifications. Maintain accurate records of all procurement transactions. Market Research: Stay up to date on industry trends, new suppliers, and material innovations in the recycling and polymer sector. Evaluate alternative suppliers and materials for continuous improvement. Quality Assurance: Ensure purchased materials meet industry standards and specifications. Collaborate with the quality assurance team to resolve any issues related to product defects or non-compliance. Collaboration: Coordinate with production, quality control, and logistics teams to align purchasing strategies with operational needs. Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior management regarding purchasing performance, supplier status, cost-saving initiatives, and potential risks in the supply chain. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Materials Science, or related field. A certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CIPS) is a plus. Proven experience (5+ years) as a Purchasing Manager or in a similar role in the manufacturing or recycling industry, particularly with a focus on polymers and recycled materials. In-depth knowledge of the recycling industry, including rPET, rPP, and rHDPE materials, and their applications in manufacturing and packaging. Strong negotiation and supplier management skills. Proficient in procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on cost optimization and process improvement. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines. Familiarity with sustainability practices and green procurement initiatives is a plus. Desired Skills: Experience with international suppliers and global supply chains in the recycling or polymer industry. Ability to identify and implement cost-saving strategies in procurement.
